I just have one question: What happened to Welshy?! He said something about going off to tape a movie, but that was what, two years ago?

He left the internet for an undetermined amount of time.

He has one or two more projects to finish before he turns it off forever.

My list would look something like:

really enjoy:
Film Brain
Mike J
Rap Critic
Todd in the Shadows

Somewhat enjoy:
Bennett (only his anime stuff, can't stand his game reviews)
Linkara
Nostalgia Critic
Diamanda
Oancitizen
Maven

Hate:
*Lupa
*Phelous
Blockbuster buster
Bennett (In his game reviews)
(*Before anyone says something, these two have nothing to do with spoonygate, I found them both unfunny and grating while in character and insufferable out of character before that mess.)

Everyone else I simply haven't watched enough to have an opinion on.

I enjoy Nostalgia Chick (I'll like it better when she goes back to film reviewing), Todd in the Shadows and Obscurus Lupa. Obscurus Lupa wins the prize for Best Review (The Amazing Blob), only narrowly beating out Nostalgia Chick/Mara Wilson (Matilda).

Wait, what?!

That's where Freeman's Mind now is?!
No real clue. I know I saw it in the menu navigation and I went "Huh?" but I can't recall when did I see it first (was it before or after Ross Scot left Machinima), nor do I know what the affiliation is at all.

...

OK. I checked now and it seems episodes 45-47 are there. So it seems it's from after he left. Also: WELL, I WAS PLANNING ON DOING OTHER STUFF BUT I'LL JUST HAVE TO WATCH THOSE INSTEAD, I SUPPOSE! :D

Cinema Snob is okay.
Yea he was awesome, but he decided he wanted to do his own thing which is cool.
Actually Doug was forced to fire him from the site because he made a rape-joke on Twitter and the red-headed chick (I forget her name, she was the Disney Princess in Suburban Knights) took offense to it.

As for me, I just "recently" found the site (as in a few weeks ago) when a buddy of mine told me about the cross over war between the Nostalgia Critic and the Angry Video Game Nerd (I had been a Nerd fan for quite a while).

As such my main focus has been on the Nostalgia Critic videos themselves, though recently I've branched off into the Cinema Snob since he was always one of my favorite players in the three movies that they made.

Angry Jo: "Hello, my name is Inyago Montoya, you killed my hamster..."
Todd in the Shadows: "Father."
Cinema Snob: "THAT'S NOT EVEN A PERSON!"

I'm not going to get into his departure from the site last year after new years too much. It wasn't the rape joke that set it off (the rape joke was supposedly said around JesuOtaku), spooney has struggled with depression for many years and dealt with it on twitter in very unflattering and embarrassing ways. The rape joke was just trudged up when spooney's infamous troll fans attacked all the other reviewers 'supposedly' for ganging up on his leading up to his departure/firing. Lupa is the red-head you're referring to, she actually got mad at him when he ranted on his twitter about wanting to be a dog and she stated she didn't want to listen to his moping and lashing out anymore.

But maybe i'm wrong or what I read on social media offers a rather unfair glimpse into what happened.

It's sad and drama on the site among reviewers has never been fun, though surprisingly is pretty rare.

I rarely go the TGWTG site anymore. The reviewers that I do like that are still affiliated with the site, namely Bennett the Sage, Cinema Snob, and JesuOtaku, all have their own sites, so I go there instead. There are some reviewers like Oan and CR that I like, but they aren't very active so I tend to forget about them. I used to watch Linkara and Nash heavily, but I haven't bothered watching their stuff in months. Guess I got bored. I still watch Spoony over at his own site, and I feel that his reviews have improved greatly since he left.

I like a good chunk of the site, but due to the shitty ad experience with Blip, I've stopped watching pretty much everything but NC, Linkara, some Todd, and Nash. I'm having trouble thinking of others.

Hate Angry Joe, though.

Nostalgia Critic
I really dislike this guy, I can't respect any reviewer who edits out of scenes of the movie, then pretends those scenes never happened in order to make the movie seem worse, lying to your audience is when you can't call yourself a reviewer any more, and that's not getting into the fact that he decided screaming and staged over the top reactions were hilarious, because everyone likes the same ten minute (if not longer) gag every single episode.

Nostalgia Chick
I stopped watching because her videos are way too self indulgent, funny at the start though.

Cinema Snob
He's fantastic, but he has his own website, just look that up.

Film Brain
Might be okay if it wasn't foooorrr that slurrrriiinnnggg Giiimmiiiccckkkk (as well as other gimmicks).

Mike J
He's also pretty good, with some really clever jokes and shock humour.

Linkara
Hit or miss, I appreciate that even though his stuff is self indulgent he almost always tries to keep his own thing out of whatever he's looking at, (only showing his own "story" before the review starts, or after it ends.)

Lupa
Diamanda
Rap Critic
Todd in the Shadows
Jesuotaku
Blockbuster buster
Bennett The Sage
Oancitizen

I've never really watched these, and I don't intend to start.

Apparently Freeman's Mind is on TGWTG now? I remembered watching that back a few years ago. When I saw it on TGWTG I had to rewatch the series up to that point.

OT: I only really watch Todd in the Shadows and Rap Critic on a regular basis. I watch Y Ruler of Time, but he rarely updates so I sometimes forget about him. I really don't care for the new Nostalgia Critic episodes. They're too long and drawn out for my tastes. I like his editorials though. It's him without all the fluff, pomp and circumstance and just straight up topic. None of that story stuff that a lot of reviewers seem to need to put into their reviews for whatever reason. In fact, I have a few words on the matter of story lines in reviews.

Rant commencing in 3...2...1

I don't really get why reviewers feel the need to add story lines into their reviews. I came to a video entitled "review" for an actual review! Not to see some half baked B-movie about the reviewer trying to beat some bad guy up. Imagine in text reviews if somebody did that.

"So I give Assassin's Creed XII a 3/45 because 300 year old Desmond looks like a ***** and the radioactive fish grappling hook is unrealistic... But then, Mecha Steve Bryant appears from the murky depths of the shadows brandishing his limited edition Acid Machine Pulse Rifle Revolver 9000. As David Mendalhausen looked up from his chair, he panicked as the behemoth of a gun charged up. Once fired, David leaped horizontally from his office chair to behind his burgundy couch effectively dodging the rapid fire acid wave. The same could not be said, unfortunately, for his forest green wall who's color he spent hours at the local paint shop picking out. All that effort, all that time, now reduced to a heap of sizzling resentment. Will David be defeated? Will the moon crystals he gained from the old wizard in his basement really come to him in his time of need? Will he ever review Call of Duty: Beta Alpha Major Warzone 16? Find out next time on Davey's reviews!"

No love for Renegade Cut, huh. It's pretty much the only thing on that site I feel has any real quality left, and that I'll watch regardless of the subject.

- Nostalgia Critic is worse than he was before, and before he was already very hit and miss.
- NChick is very good when she's actually reviewing something.
- I couldn't give a damn about Linkara and Cinema Snob.
- Film Brain's s'okay-ish.
- CR is cool, but he hardly has anything coming down the pipeline anymore.
- Sage is okay with his game reviews, but Anime Abandom is really sorta embarressing because he just isn't funny at all. And the amount by which he tries makes me feel almost sad for the guy.
- Read Right to Left is pretty good, but has a rather slow release rate.

I haven't been to that site in ages. Probably a year or more. Not sure why, though. Maybe my interest just faded?

I kind of like Film Brain, and watch Mike J's stuff when he posts, which seems pretty rare. I also sometimes check out Linkara, but don't watch his newer stuff since I can't stand the B-movie plot stuff he tends to do. The only one I actively follow is Angry Joe, but I just do that via YouTube not TGWTG. In my opinion TGWTG has really gone downhill. They are all obsessed with doing these plots and skits, and none of them are any good. I want to see them analyze or riff on their medium of choice, not their horrible attempts at drama and comedy. Nostalgia Critic is especially guilty of this. I still check his reviews from time to time, but they only bring me pain. He feels so forced with most of his humor, his skits are amazingly unfunny, and the sidekicks from Demo Reel (which was terrible) only hold him back. I used to eagerly await every new video he posted, now I can't bring myself to care. With Spoony being long gone, the only online reviewer I still find genuinely entertaining regularly, there are almost no reasons for me to check it regularly.

I watch pretty much everything Doug makes.

I also watch Linkara, Suede, and I would say Fraser, but I watch his youtube channel instead of his TGWTG channel.

I watched Spoony until he left, now I watch his website.

I'm not saying I know the exact account of what went down...as I mentioned in my first response I'm relatively new to the site itself. I just know I heard a rape-joke was involved in there somewhere and that's why Doug had to fire him from the site, but new as I am to the situation I fully admit I could have bad information.

But yeah, one of the problems with the site is that there's so many reviewers. With a roster of personalities THAT big and the fact that they're all relatively close-knit with one another (often doing crossovers and such), drama between them is almost an inevitability.
