I am surprised how there has been no threads about this lately, although that may be to do with it all being about mass effect, but since some info on halo's finally out, how about we talk about that for once?

I for some reason think spartan OPs maps may me forge/makable. After all, taking out fire fright in favor of a spec ops-type mode means they must be diverting more resources into it.

Although they should fire whoever thought of the name "spartan points".

Don't get me wrong, I am fine with change. it is just that the names of things make me go, "Really?". Spartan Ops, Spartan Points, Spartan mexican foods, I seriously hope they are just place holders.

Although it is a matter of time before people start calling this game "Halo of duty 4" either way.

Well, I clearly see no reasons to believe that 343 represents Microsoft milking Bungie's franchise for all it's worth without adding to it or living up to its legacy. No, siree...

Agreed. I hate seeing another "why mass effect/EA/Bioware/FPS/mmos suck/ruin everything because...." thread pop up to regurgitate the same information that we already know/don't care about. Do people not see the ones already made? Sigh....the internet...

Spartan ops sounds promising, but sadly I can't enjoy a lot of multiplayer experiences because I have hardly any friends...so.....sucks for me I guess :C I just hope the other modes offer a lot of replayability.

I just hope "spartan points" are easier to get than the unlock system in Reach. I love that game, but my god is that a pointless grind for all the cool looking armor.

No designated weapon spots? I never liked dedicated weapon spots that much (its an old pointless relic from games past), but I hope they don't make the weapon drop pods too annoying.

No respawn cooldown? and joining games in progress?

Why aren't these in more games!?!???!!??

I'm a bit nervous. Random power weapon spawns and instant re-spawns and dropping people into games already in progress. I honestly won't be surprised if the game ends up sucking. You won't beat Call of Duty by trying to be Call of Duty.

I am now terrified that 343 will screw up this franchise. I was confident when I saw some of the multiplayer but now "Spec-ops" and the ability to buy your abilities? Halo has been about skill mixed with team work. If this formula is removed from the equation this will not be a good Halo game. It may be a good game, but defnitly not a good Halo game.

EDIT: Some of the other changes are welcome, the moving of weapon locations and the return of armor abilities, but....what made Halo great was its ability to not be any other kind of shooter. I am seeing signs of the Call of Duty plague that managed to scar Battlefield 3. I am now cautious on this one.....(BTW, a sprint feature should be an armor ability for Halo. Thats what made classes the classes so well balanced).

Also...at least make Elites some sort of playlist like firefight. It makes sense.

Lastly, Am I the only one bothered by the idea of mixing the story with the Multiplayer? It can be done, but I don't think a military organization would include anything along the lines of flaming skulls and such. I liked it when it was more like unreal tournament, just fight on cool looking locations.

So in essence my hopes of this game went from 70% being good to 50% being good.

Oof... Some of those changes... I don't mind them taking out firefight, personally. I thought it was kind of boring... Mostly because the enemies come out so slowly! But they're changing shit to look WAY too much like Call of Duty. I will be upset if the Spartan Points unlock features usable in-game. I hate how in Call of Duty you can unlock shit that gives you an advantage over the enemy, no matter how slight. If you are able to do that in Halo 4, I will be extremely upset. Another thing they better not change is Armor Lock. There's no mention of it, but there's nothing better than seeing a Ghost charge at you just to wreck it with your armor and wear a huge trollface the whole time. I swear to god, 343, do not fucking take that from me!

Just don't muck up my campaign, 343. Don't mess with the lore. I've never been big into the multiplayer unless it is co-op with a friend.

I wouldn't worry much about campaign, it seems good even if the covie prescience at the start is a bit weird. Spartan Ops may prove to be a very good addition to halo 4 if done right.

Lets just hope that they ditch those titles before the game is completed...

Having to buying your abilities? Weapon spawns being randomized?

By the sacred rings, this sounds terrible.

I knew this would happen, Halo was awesome until Reach. Too much game-play changes, just relaunch Halo 2 and that's the only game I will ever need..

"It contains a virtual reality sector that creates the multiplayer experience."
This could pave a way for some great Forge.
