Hrmmm... Nobody mentioned Dark Link from Zelda 2. Oh, but he was a boss, so that doesn't count. How about the entire fucking game then? Especially Death Mountain (the 3rd dungeon). It had a difficulty curve steeper than a telephone pole.

Second to that is the Library in Halo:CE. Even with the difficulty set on Normal it's a tedious, mindless slog that totally broke the pace of the previous levels.

Ninja'd... OMG! THAT LEVEL PISSED ME OFF! I felt like it was the same room over and over again with unlimited spawn of enimies!

Yeah, not one of Bungie's most imaginative levels, was it? I always get the impression that they made that level in ten minutes so they could clock-off early for the weekend. An unfortunately repetitive blemish on an otherwise very polished game.

pretty much every level in Oblivion once you level up too much and the enemies become horribly overpowered.
Yeah. I always disliked how the game mechanics discourage you from leveling up. I was able to blaze through the game by never letting my character take a nap.

I remember the train level from GTA too... but I have to give the award to a newer game: mass effect 2, on insane with my lowlevel soldier, the derelict ship mission. Man I died a lot there.

I hate the Stone Tower temple in Majora's Mask. The area around it (well, except for the climb up to it) and the rest of the game in general is great, but Stone Tower is such a drudge that it makes me want to quit the game every time I get to it. Playing the Elegy of Emptiness over and over and over and over drives me bananas. And it's so dreary.

The Fade in Dragon Age: Origins is such a long dull section of the game. I hate it for pretty much the same reason that I hate going in the planes of Oblivion in the Elder Scrolls IV. Just because it's a demon's "lair" doesn't mean it has to be a sea of endless RED. It's so boring.

In Banjo-Kazooie, it's the level with the giant mechanical friendly shark.

The final boss second form in Prinny CIRBTH.

Never beaten him to this day, and I was never so mad at a game.

I just can't take anyone who whines about the difficulty of a GTA mission seriously. The only tough one I remember is the exploding clowns in the little courtyard in GTA 3.
No "Supply Lines" on the PS2 version of San Andreas? Possible, but required precision.

Of course, they went and gave the Red Baron double fuel time in the other versions.
Both of those were complete bitches. But the one that stopped me for a long time was the Flying School missions, I was only 11 on my first play through of this game, and god damn, at least I could use a couple of cheats to beat Wrong Side of the Tracks, and Supply Lines wasn't part of the main storyline, but getting my Pilots License, it was just impossible, I had to just give up and replay it in later years when I was a much more seasoned gamer.

My friend inspired a meme amungst our group; "Derek dies". Based on him explaining how despite all the things he did, Derek, in a mission in GTA4, dies.

Shot at some boats. Derek dies.

Let him out of a car, but reverse whilest he's getting out so the door hits him. Derek Dies.

Had sex with a hooker in your car. Derek dies.

Eat a burger. Derek dies.

Imagine the fun we had with this.

I cant remember the name, but its the final level of Dynasty Warriors 3(I think) if you played for the Red team with someone like Zhou Yun. It was a giant castle with stupid traps everywhere, tons of crossbowman who could shoot you before you could see them, enemy NPCs who had WAY too much health and could deal out way too much damage. So frustrating and I have no idea why I continued to try and beat it. It wasn't that great of a game
