I feel as though there is that one poet/poem/play whether it be an actual poem or maybe just a song/play line(s) that simply blows us away. Poetry can speak volumes and I'm just curious as to what is your favorite poet/poem and why.
For me my favorite poet is Robert Frost. I usually despise poetry in all forms other than song lyrics, but something about Frost gives me the chills. Other poetry that I enjoy includes Paradise Lost, The Odyssey, The Iliad, Tragedy of Doctor Faustus, and Caesar. So I enjoy epic poems I guess...
Here's my favorite poem by Frost:
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Why I like this specific poem: the flow is awesome and it just sums up life in general; nothing gold can stay.
