Think of anotherwise great film, but with one scence that just seemed out of place, bad, or just outright ruined the movie. What was it?

The scene from The Island with the little robot things that go in the guy's eye.

I'm really squeamish, don't laugh at me.

Euh i will take scene for a bit of a real stretch here.

The whole part in AI after the kid stares at the statue underwater. The small bit after that just ruined the complete movie for me. It lost of credibility.

You knew that
they were the advanced future robots that had inherited the earth after humans had gone extinct and not aliens, right? Since every time I hear someone complain about the ending of AI, they always say they're aliens.

For me, it's any scene where Anthony Hopkins opens his mouth in Silence of the Lambs. Everything he says is just so fucking ridiculous that I can't take the character of Hannibal Lecter seriously.

When Adrian Brodi decides its a good idea to have sex with his scientific creation. Which, in turn, leads to the damn thing changing gender and raping Brodi's wife. Not cool, Hollywood. Not cool at all.

The spiderman 3 dance scene it was just too silly and out of place.
That was the scene that actually made the movie and made me giggle like a girl.
The scene that ruined that movie was everything else.

To be safe i will use spoilers.

I more have a problem with the fact that the "happy" ending feels forced on. It just feel really out of place with the rest of the movie. Doesn't help that i feel spielberg is trying to be family friendly with most movies he touched for a while now.

If this was about games as well then I would have to say Halo: REACH, because the way the squad just get picked off one by one in increasingly small scale ways just doesn't fit the supposedly epic scale of the setting.
As for movies though I would also have to say AI, not because I thought those advanced robots were out of place or anything, I just didn't enjoy the style of science fiction it entered when those things showed up.

EDIT: How can I use spoilers?

The ending to Kick Ass.

The first part was so good... but then they pull a jet pack with machine guns on it out of no where and shoot the bad guy out of a window with a rocket launcher. So unbelievably stupid, especially after that fantastic torture scene.

Could have been my movie of the year for 2010. Nope.

Pulled it out of nowhere? They mentioned it like three times before that!

[broiler]blah blah blah[/broiler] With spoiler instead of broiler. To name them, put spoiler=what you want to title it for the first one.

I read the book, and I was expecting, but that didn't mean it was still sad and scary.

I can't complain that they made it like it was in the book (long and horrid), but I still cringe when he's set on fire.

I know, and I was really interested in what it could be. But until then... the whole movie was believable. I know it really wasn't exactly possible, but it was relatively realistic. Then it just got too silly for me.

You know that

The jetpack and machine guns were teased earlier in the movie, they didn't come out of nowhere.

Oops, sorry, ninja'd.

Exactly what I was going to post. I mean... what. If the film was going the 'Species' route then that would've been fine providing Dren had killed or tried to kill Brody.

The film had alot of potential but just hit rock bottom after that part.

I am going to go Shakespeare and say the 2000 Version of Hamlet with Bill Murray and Ethan Hawke.

Quoting "To Be Or Not To Be" in a Blockbuster... That ruined the movie for me. It was SO Effin' Stupid.
