That one trophy/achievement.

So I finally got the last trophy for Demon's Souls today and finally got Platinum on it. Many DS veterans will probably now what I am talking about. As for those that don't or just got lucky with it.... You are extremly lucky bastards and I want you dead.


Anyways the last trophy I needed was the Master Slasher one which requires you do find an extremly rare drop called pure bladestone. Which only drops from 2(of the hardest) monsters in the whole game and one of them only spawns in pure black world tendency(Makes the mobs harder). I am not enterily sure on the drop rate on it but it is belived to be 1/200 kill or 0.5%. So yeah... Fun times.

To make this post shorter: I spent the last 5 days to get it and I finally got an half hour ago. At first I stared at the screen in disbelif since I though that I either had died or fallen a sleep but it was true! TEAR OF HAPPINESS WERE SHED! Erhm...


TL;DR: Which achievements/trophys gave you a though time to obtain or was just really freaking hard to get due to low droprate or other resons.

One i'm still getting annoyed with to this day.

Not a difficult one it just doesn't seem to want to happen for me.

Getting 4 kills on the first roll in that bloody holo game in Rage.

I hate, hate, hate, hate and did I mention hate? achievements that rely on RNG/chance/luck.

I'll tell you how unlucky I am at that game ... $2335 i've spent on it at $5 per game.

I am with you a 100% on that. There is a special kind of hell for those that come up with those kind of achievements.

Heh, reading this part alone, I realized what you were talking about. I spent hours and hours of ingame time, farming that black phantom dual wield skeleton in World 4. Just like you, I was very happy when it finally dropped.

As for my answer, I'll say anything that fits in this category:

Achievements that rely on RNG/chance/luck.

And furthermore, online achievements, because if you get the game a bit further down the line, like if you get it used or on sale or something like that. If it's not a super popular game, you're very likely to encounter completely empty servers, making it impossible, literally impossible to get it. Special mention goes to one from Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena:

Dominator
Get a 12 kill long kill streak. Get a quadruple kill. Get the first and last kill in a match.

Already hard in a normal online game, impossible now.

I've said this once before but I feel the need to restate this.

Wedding Crasher on L4D2 is leagues harder to get than any other achievement in that game.

It relies on perfect co-ordination on the part of the Infected team assuming the Survivors are a competent bunch. It requires your aim and the Survivor's positioning to be spot on and even then, with the way high speed collisions tend to get handled in the Source engine (read: badly) it can still bug out and you and leave you achievement less.

The kicker is that I've done this on both the PC and Xbox versions just for the sake of completion.

Eww achievements, get them away from me, especially if they pride themselves in being difficult to get.

I do like achievements used as easter eggs though, like "My brother is an Italian plumber" in Borderlands, or
"Marko Polo" in Uncharted 2.

I have 99% of Trophies on Little Big Planet, the one I need still to get is to play online with 3 friends, unfortunately I do not know anyone who plays the game anymore.

Oh and Fallout: New Vegas, I am not finding the Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle caps EVER.

I've only ever gone all completionist/ achievement hunter in TLoS DotD and after spending so many hours to find everything (at least 15 to find the last thing) the game glitched and said I was only 98 percent complete. I checked online and that's how I know it's a glitch. pissed me off so much...

I always thought I'd eventually go back and get 7 Day Survivor in Dead Rising. But I just don't have 14 hours to waste sitting in a tiny room waiting for Frank to slowly starve to death one brick at a time.
