I had 2. I am pretty popular in school, but my choice of real friends away from the popular crowd ended badly. 1 kid was my neighbor and he was concidered a loser, I brought him up since 4th grade till 8th grade and made him cool. He started hanging out with people and no inviting me. So I did the same to him. We stoped talking this year,

Samething happened to my first best friend. We were best friends from kindergarden to sixth grade. Then he found a new group.

That second guy is stil by best friend. We started talking alot this year, but won't hang outside of school because we wonder if the other person will react the same.

So no, I'm not close to anyone now. Just a whole bunch of people that like me but I won't open up to.

No one truely knows me, and I like it that way. I have 3/4 close friends, and they all know different parts of me (with some overlapping now), but no one knows the complete me, and I want to keep it that way. It may change when I have a girlfriend, though it would probably have to be long term, but even then I cant be sure if they'll know the whole me.

My family moved around a lot when I was a kid so I ended up really close to my brother. He has always been the one I feel most comfortable talking to whenever I feel like I need to get something off my chest. Unfortunately I don't get to see him as much as I'd like since I moved away from home.

Anyway, it's hard to maintain optimism when previous romantic relationships have all met with failure despite my best efforts and being a social recluse doesn't exactly give me many opportunities to meet people.
