1.Pretty much every thread about My Little Pony.
2.Threads that pop up right after a game comes out about how it is bad and you should feel bad for liking it.
3.Threads about Preowned games/Piracy.
4.Why does X do well/get so much hate? Threads.

Another thing is people's obnoxious insistence that all polls include a "i don't know/i don't care/i take no side" option in every single situation. If that's the case then DON'T VOTE OR LEAVE A COMMENT. When I vote for a senator there is no 'i don't care' box you just don't vote.
I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. I think it's perfectly reasonable to want to know if people just don't have any strong feelings about the topic being discussed. There's no way to measure a non-vote.

And since you brought it up, I think it would be very interesting to see how many people would opt to vote "don't care" in your average congressional election (especially if you asked them why they don't care).

OP: Threads that are dedicated to talking about the popular game du-jour, not necessarily because they don't have their merits, but because I play so few current releases that I can hardly ever participate. Again, I think these threads are fine, but for my part they might as well not be there.

Threads that entirely consist of the author bashing and ranting on a game and after all that they put "Discuss" at the end. Yeah bullshit, you could at least put some effort into making it seem like there's actually some discussion value here.

This one is more of a post thing rather than thread thing but I have an irrational hatred for Godwin's Law. Something about it just feels so pretentious to me. When Someone references Hitler and you pop in and say "GODWINS LAW" that does not mean you fucking automatically win the debate or that their point is somehow less valid. The part I hate the most though is people will say this even if the comparison is completely justified.

Threads where the title is completely misleading. You know where the title is something really controversial or offensive and you get into the thread and the op is like "now that I have your attention".

Those threads where someone is like "I don't get why people like *insert something tons of people like ala COD, half life etc* It's like really? Millons of people like it and you really can't think of a single reason it's popular?

Threads.
Especially when the reasons not to like something are especially conceited.
Yeah these threads too. Very similar to the one above. fuck those threads so much. I don't think there's a thread out there I hate more than these. Especially when X is something that like 99.9999% of people in the world like and it makes absolute zero sense to dislike.

Anti-gun threads.
I don't care if you don't like them, at least let me be among the 99% of responsible gun owners out there and stop trying to take away one of my recreational activities. I get it, people with guns sometimes do bad things, but so do people with cars/knives/wooden boards...

Any threads that have anything to do with anything being "over-rated."
That word is just used so often for so many different reasons to the point where I just lose it whenever I read it...

Anything about Skyrim or MLP. I get it. You like it. You don't have to start a new thread every fucking time to tell people that you like it. That Skyrim box art thread? Fucking ridiculous.
OMG this. I personally fucking love Skyrim but seriously? That box art thread. What a load of wank. Just some idiot trying to be pretentious.
not to mention half the stuff in his post was wrong. "obviously the game will have something to do with restoring the emperor". Um. Nope. Not at all.

I hate "the last x" threads, non-discussion, whine-it-to-your-blog-***** threads, and threads that don't compare something to hitler

Skyrim, all I see on this site is Skyrim this and Skyrim that. I don't know if you guys know this or not but there's other games besides Skyrim.

1. Recommendation threads
2. Recommendation threads
3. Ponies
4. Multiple threads about the same thing (Skyrim, flavor of the week)
5. Recommendation threads

Seriously, I hate recommendation threads so much because most of the time the OP doesn't post their taste so it's just people yelling out their favorite games/anime. No to mention there are so many of them you can just use the searchbar and find one with a list of decent games/anime. Most of the time there are old -insert genre/system here- threads that list what kind of things you are looking for. It's not like people post anything different either, they recommend the same ones every time.

I don't know about you guys, but I thought the Skyrim box art thread was actually rather clever, if a bit over-speculative.

As for me, I cannot stand threads where the OP says "Why do people like X?" and then attempts to refute every answer to the question. They not only demonstrate a failure to grasp the shockingly basic concept of opinions, but immense egotism, as all the OP actually wants is to inform the world that they don't like a popular thing and that somehow makes them special. Pisses me off every time I see one.

That one MLP question. You know the one.
For me personally, I'm going to with 99% of the MLP questions.
Then you support the 1%!!?!?! TRAITOR!

OT:
'OMG IZ DIS GAME SO AMZING OR WUT!'...threads.
They're stupid, tend to be posted multiple times, and almost always end up in flame/troll wars.

Just read through a few pages of the scary thread. That is officialy the one I despise the most now, I'm now scared to go downstairs in the bright daylight.

I also hate pony hate threads and threads asking what MLP is about. They just give more ammo to pony haters and piss off the bronies of the site by the absolute uselessness they do.

When I saw this the other day I couldn't think of anything; unfortunately that omission is now rectified.

I hate "who would win in a fight, country/alliance bloc X or country/alliance bloc Y" threads.
I hate them very much.

Nothing productive comes of them, they inevitably wind up in pointless debates about who's guns are better, some ultranationalist shows up and goes off about "mah cuntreh iz bestest tebags all", and it all ends with "they nuke each other and everyone dies".

Utterly, utterly wasteful.
