I don't remember many of the details, the where, the why, the who are all a mystery to me. All I know is that either I was being ritualistically mutilated with a ram skull used as a fulcrum to bend my joints the wrong way...or I was the one doing it. I still remember the cracking and breaking of knees being twisted around the skull. I'm not a violent person, I don't even like most horror movies because they're nothing but torture porn. This is the only nightmare I've ever had that's stuck with me. I do not want another.

I have had a regular dream which I lose my left arm above my elbow and my left eye in varying forms of accidents. The only saving grace about this dream in which i feel the injuries occuring as best as my brain can predict, is I get some kickass bionic arm replacement and a cybernetic eye that has varity of gadgets.

Still freaky as hell.

I had one where a black figure came out onto the stage for American Idol and lunged out at the camera before I woke up. It's sounds pretty silly in hindsight though...

A couple of times when I was sick (cold, flu, whatever) and I got a bit of a fever, I had hallucinations/dreams.
There was something on the horizon, and I knew it was getting closer, I dunno if it was a ship or a vehicle of some kind, but it was coming straight for me and not stopping.
Thing is, it scared the hell out of me for some reason I couldn't explain, so inevitably, I'd freak out, come out of the hallucination/dream briefly, only to have the whole thing start again.
Even though whatever it was never reached me, and seemingly never could, I knew that it wanted to, and it would keep on trying, again and again, everytime I let my mind wander.

The one dream that has stayed with me for years was one of myself and my mother. In the dream i realised that she wasn't human and only impersonating my mother. I wont get into details but it was an incredibly violent dream, at one point I had collapsed her throat with a cricket bat but she grew pipes from her lounges to her mouth. After finally killing her my mother appeared again, this time claiming to be the real deal. But as soon as I turned around she grew claws and cut my back. At that point I woke up and for the next 13 years would try to analyse just what the dream meant if anything.

I don't remember it perfectly, so if it seems incoherent forgive me.

Me and my family had gone to an old house for some reason. You know the kind I mean, the old Victorian looking houses. Anyway, I think we were going to be staying there for a while. We were rather eager to explore the house, as it was rather sizeable. Old houses creep me out to begin with, but for some reason this one was especially foreboding. As I explored the house, I noticed pictures of the previous inhabitants, but they appeared to be old pictures, like same era as the house old. I then noticed that all the furniture seemed to be from the same era but really well preserved, almost perfect. I remember hearing something along the lines of "The house hasn't been lived in for nearly 100 years." At the time I thought it was just a line they were using to "sell" the house or attract tourists or something. As I explored, I began to feel more and more uneasy. As I rounded the corner the living room, I saw what appeared to be an old T.V., you know one of the old wooden cabinet style T.V.'s. I saw an image on the screen, thinking one of my family had turned it on I got closer. As I approached I knew something wasn't quite right. I got right in front of it and saw that it wasn't a T.V. at all but a tank, and inside, floating in a a greenish liquid, face pressed against the glass, was the perfectly preserved corpse of an old woman.

That was the only time I woke up genuinely terrified, it actually took me a good half an hour for me to realize it hadn't actually happened.
I was about 19 at the time, so it's not like I was a kid.
I don't know what it was, I mean I've seen stuff like that in movie's before, but in the dream I had very real sense of completely real completely unchained evil.

It was the only nightmare I remember in my 22 years of living.
I still get scared thinking about it.

I come pretty close to exclusively having nightmares. They have gotten so common place growing up that they don't effect my quality of sleep or mental state. Sometimes there's recurring themes to them, one of which that comes to mind at the moment are the many I have that have to do with "other" versions of people I know. They look and act like they normally would but somethings slightly off, they are always aware I'm onto them and are even aware of the "other" versions of people I have already encountered in previous dreams. They are cruel, and I know that they have a abstract form when not impersonating others but that's about all I know of them.
