Who buys games from retail stores anyway?

In the UK I'm guaranteed to get any game I want cheaper than the brick & mortar stores from Play.com or Amazon.co.uk, even their pre-owned stuff is cheaper, if not its off to ebay.

Not to mention Steam/Impulse Weekend Deals giving me even better bargains.

Thats weird I traded in like 20 games and got almost 400, I never played them so it was fair and I had a card so I get a bonus to my sales to them, plus the guys at my gamestop actually know something about games and are very helpful.

I don't understand this (and it isn't the first time I have heard it about Juggs). I preordered it and when I picked it up they gave me a paper with the code on it.

Has anyone here on the escapist been able to get that DLC or am I the only dork who likes those games?

No you aren't the only dork lol. It is the Civil War!! How can I pass on a game that is based on the most epic comic series Marvel has ever produced? And Juggs is a beast. He is a bit overpowered IMO compared to the rest of the characters I have played. Although I haven't played any of the other "big" characters like The Thing so I can't say for sure.

I've always hated Gamestop, unfortunetely, they're like WalMart.

They come into town and put all the small local game stores out of buisness. There are no more local game shops in my town but there's a Gamestop on every fucking corner. Its like Starbucks, I think I have one growing my backyard!

I hate gamestop, they ripped me off so many time. I traded 3 360 games and only got 8 dollars. WTF!

I do hate gamestop, but it's the only other place besides bestbuy to buy games around here.

I try to stick to independent stores... there's a good shop near me that sells games as soon as they come into stock - even if it's before the official release date.

I suppose they have to do something to compete with Gamestation and Game etc, even if it is a bit unsound.

And also the guy that owns it has time for his customers. He's nice enough to say if a game I'm about to buy is rubbish.

the only reason i go to them is the other 4 shops closed down because they were bought by guess who.....gamestop
