ok, so as you know i recently got dumped by my girlfriend. Yesterday, i'm at the bus stop when out of nowhere an "old friend" rocks up. an old friend who for the two years I knew her for i wanted to sleep with. Being that I live a good 100km from where I saw her last, i'm a little bit freaked out at her timing.

has anyone else ever had an experience like this? i don't believe in fate, but damn is that spooky

By "rocks up" do you mean "rocks up in your bed"? If so, no :(
If by "rocks up" you mean, "turns up to say hi and flirt casually" then yes!

I am tired so forgive me if I misread your post a bit. If the friend is still in the area and you think you have a chance with her, then go ahead. Even though I've only read your posts online I hate hearing about people's heartbreaks especially after I went through a tough one myself, they suck. Just be prepared to be rejected is all I'm saying, further heartbreak can only make you more depressed.

internut, the point of the post is that it's like the fates are throwing things at me at convenient times. kind of like spending 20 dollars on lollies, giving those lollies to kids, and finding another 20 in your pocket. just freaky things like that. not talking abour relationships, just wondering what spooky stuff like this has happened to other escapists

No interesting stories here, at least, none that I can drudge up at a moment's notice. I'll see if I remember any.

I know this thread isn't supposed to be solely about relationships but I figure I'll share anyway.

I took Biology at A level last year and none of my friends being the sciencey types took it as well. When I started I just sat next to this girl and got talking to her. Throughout the course of the year I think we got to be fairly good friends and I must say I developed quite an affection towards her, but she was involved with her boyfriend of 3 years and I'm not a total ass hole so I didn't act upon my emotions any further.

First freakish coincidence, without previously discussing it, out of a list of thousands of potential courses we both chose the exact same one at the same university due to start on Monday and it's almost a certainty that we will be in the same class. Second type of coincidence, after recently catching up with her via the internet, I find out that she recently split up with her boyfriend coincidentally right near the start of uni.

Why can't this shit ever happen to me? Where's my comforting hot sexy friend for all those days I'm miserable and emo ?

I met a guy at a big Sydney concert.

I met him again in a local cafe.

I found he lives three streets away.

Isn't the world small?

After the horrific experience I had with a woman a few years ago (ended up with me getting a broken rib and being left 30000$ in debt to credit card companies), I'm all for people having fun and enjoying being with themselves. That said, I've never understood the need some people have to be with someone else. If ya believe that fate had something to do with your meeting, cool, but remember that fucking someone is not really going to benefit you in any kind of long run. If there's no connection other than lust, you're best of avoiding the situation entirely.

Hell, that's just my opinion though, and I am a little bitter and jaded from experience.

[Edited for spelling.]

Try this one: I broke up with my girlfriend of a year because the relationship was stagnant. Then I come into work one day and guess who I'm training? ya, my ex. Next, I find out she had a new boyfriend, one whom she had been seeing off and on over the past couple years. Then I find out that her boyfriend is a guy I had just made friends with THE DAY AFTER I broke up with her. How's that for an odd coincidence?

broke up with my girlfriend of two years and find out shes going out with an old friend of ours who is a total arse.

being a man of sound mind i hit my local pub. Upon entering which i discover there's a new bar maid, who is insainly hot, also is my ex's worst enemy, and is flirting like crazy with me.

I spend two mind blowing months with her, find out my ex's new man has been cheating and shes in the pits of depression and to top it all off this new girl buys me a guitar as a breaking up priesent.

*looks up to the heavens* thanks :D

Driving along with a friend explaining how Alzheimer's can make old people go crazy and shit, an old crone tried to cut in on a roundabout but jammed on breaks at the last second because theres no way in hell someone can stop on a dime while travelling at 40km/h. About 100m is a set of lights, pull upthere, old woman pulls into turning lane, lowers the window and uses language inappropriate for someone over the age of 95. The turning arrow was green, but she sat through it abusing us, just after it turned red she planted her foot and careened off into a car that was attempting to turn right, swiped and consquently span another car, bounced off a bollard than hit two poles and ploughed into a flat owned by another old cranky woman........

(Un)Fortunatly, in the most hilarious of circumstances there was a police car right behind the first car she hit....

My friend was just stunned.

That, and the 4WD story, are proofs of the might of synchronicity...
