It's always been kind of crazy that the game was named after Zelda. Who names a game after the damsel? Is she a legendary damsel?
So...Pretty much like Link? >.>InsanityRequiem said:The character model is too androgynous for me to make out if it's a male or female character.
This is something I have really been wanting for some time. I suspect that I will weep in joy if this actually happens. -w-Zak757 said:A Zelda game in which we actually play as Zelda would be pretty great, and that's looking to be a possibility.
Why is it a slap in the face?lord canti said:He said it wasn't link in the twilight princess trailer. Also, if it's a female Link then that would seem like kind of a slap in the face to Zelda.
I think, kind of. People aren't hung up on it in a stuck way. They want to speculate and imagine. A Zelda game were your playing as someone other then the same, old, male link is a exciting prospect.Casual Shinji said:You mean a female character in a videogame... without boobs?! *pssh*
Seriously, I don't understand why people are so hung up over the hair style and lighting making a male character look slightly more feminine than usual. Are these fans of the series so desperate for change?
Doesn't that indicate though that this series is ripe for some fresh ideas? When even the fans are going crazy with speculation over this maybe-new protagonist?nomotog said:I think, kind of. Maybe not. People haven't been going wild about the prospect of it being an open world or what this new bow can do. Both things that will affect the game a lot more. I might just be the female link that is getting people excited. It's the intersection of two bits in gaming. "Why can't Nintendo do something new?" and "Where are all the women?" I think it is also helped by the design being really good.Casual Shinji said:Doesn't that indicate though that this series is ripe for some fresh ideas? And I mean, it's definitely Link, but his design is just slightly different enough from the usual mold that it's already sending fans into a tizzy.
I was under the impression people got excited for Zelda games because they were rather tried and true. I don't really expect to go to a Zelda game for new and exciting.nomotog said:I think, kind of. Different people then normal are getting excited? It might not be the die hard Zelda fans getting excited, but everyone else. I know I wouldn't call myself a Zelda fan. The last one I played was the seasons one, but I am excited for this new one. It looks like to could be a nice jumping on point.Zachary Amaranth said:I was under the impression people got excited for Zelda games because they were rather tried and true. Maybe a slap to the face is the wrong phrase, but I feel as though if they're going to make a female character then why not make it Zelda. I mean she has been shown quite capable in combat before.nomotog said:Why is it a slap in the face?lord canti said:He said it wasn't link in the twilight princess trailer.
