Fucking hell is that film bad.
I disapprove of your disapproval of one of my favourite action stars movies that I like. As a result of your disapproval I am now going to watch every Milla Jovovich movie I own, starting with ultra violet, then all 3 resident evils. Take that you milla hating mean person. hahahahha
I love Milla Jovovich, I think she is one hell of an underrated actress..and she's hot, however, most of the films she has been in do kinda suck unfortunately.

Best:
-Mrs.Doubtfire
-Avatar (A retelling, yes, but a badass and highly enjoyable retelling of Pocahonatas)
-The Hangover
-I am Legend
-Percy Jackson (Yes, I watched it and ejoyed it)

Worst:
-Transformers2 (x9,000!!!)
-Babel (It is unecessarily long and poorly put together)
-Spiderman 3 (Was just, aweful)
I agree on all counts except for Mrs. Doubtfire and Percy Jackson. Haven't seen either of them o__0

And yeah Avatar was to tree-huggy and nature-loving for my tastes, but it was a good movie and I enjoyed it the whole way through.

By the way, you said I Am Legend for top 5. Have you watched Seven Pounds? Not as good as I Am Legend, but I thought that one turned out well.

This is going to be hard....

Best
-Fight Club
-Eagle vs Shark
-Hard Candy
-The Edukators
-Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang

Worst
-Meet the Parents
-Meet the Fockers
-American Pie (all of them - I know there is like what, 15 films now? But they are all the same so I count them as one)
-Mission Impossible 3
-Miss March

In regards to the best, there are so many that I love on an equal scale and I couldn't really explain my reasoning for these in particular.
Hard Candy, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang...both awesome movies.

Still working out the particulars of my fave/least fave 5's.

Can only think of my worst (seems everyone else is doing the same, but just listing it multiple times - I'll spare you the idiocy)

When I saw Dumb and Dumberer (the sequel, mind you) I saw it at a dollar theater for fifty cents and someone else paid for me. And I still wish I had my money back.

Mrs.Doubtfire was a Robbin Williams movie, but it was funny and enjoyable, I watch it when I'm feeling blue.
Percy Jackson was a great kid (age 8-16) movie that adults could enjoy.

I have not watched Seven Pounds yet, I'm nervous about it because I know it's a sad movie. You should see Will Smith's Pursuit of Happyness, I've only see it once, but it was moving. I can't bring myself to watch it again because I cried like a baby the first time.

Top of my head and in no order:

Best:
Butterfly Effect.
V For Vendetta.
American Psycho.
Fight Club.
Requiem For A Dream

Worthy mentions: Batman: Dark Knight, Gran Torino, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Falling Down, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and Sunshine, just because I liked them a lot but just can't fit them into the top five.

Worst (in actual order):
Cradle Of Fear (this is THE worst I've seen and the only film where I actually couldn't watch past the first five minutes ever).
Butterfly Effect 3.
Butterfly Effect 2.
Open Water.
Resident Evil 2 (in terms of movies that have gone "off topic", this ranks at the highest that achieved that, even people who have never even known of the games can tell how off topic it gets if they've seen the first Resident Evil film).

Watched it, loved it. The story is a little hard to follow, though. I was also bummed about the depressed setting, but Will Smith makes anything bearable.

If you see Seven Pounds in the library or something, get it. It is a sad movie, yes, but that's what makes it cool. Plus, it has a plot twist. Yay :D

Best: (okay not best, just my top five favourites)
-Jurassic Park (loved this movie since '93)
-Lost in Translation
-Airplane
-Spaceballs
-Get Shorty

(I also enjoy the previously mentioned Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and have shown it to others who ahve in turn enjoyed it just as much)

Worst:
-Postal (I found it kinda funny, but it was still a bad movie.)
-Cabin Fever
-The Happening (I can only hope the total cheese was an intentional mimic of 50' cheese)
-War of the World (50's) I hate the god-saved-us churchy ending. It's science, not miracles. I liked it up to that point too, but the ending ruined it for me.
-Borat/Bruno. Like Postal I found them funny, but they were both pretty bad movies.

I always come to these threads and read through everyone's lists, wondering what exactly they're basing their opinions on. Some of them seem like odd choices - either well-made and enjoyable movies being counted as bad, or ridiculously overrated movies being counted as best. It's funny, really. Maybe someone should make one of these threads, except change it so you have to give reasons for your choices.

I can't make a list, however. There have been so many brilliant films that I've seen, some of which none of you will have ever heard of, that choosing would be impossible for me.
On the other hand, I couldn't pick five bad movies because I have a habit of always picking out the good points in films and seeing if they outweigh the bad points. They usually just negate each other, so there's very little films I'd actually count as horrible.

Excuse my crazy ramblings, I'm in an odd mood today. =]

Best:

The Shawshank Redemption - One of the greatest all round films I've ever seen. Everything about it was masterfully done.
Rounders - I'm somewhat of a poker fiend so........
The Usual Suspects - Keeps you guessing right until the very end, has one of the most memorable twists that I have ever seen and I love Kevin Spacey.
American Beauty - Another Kevin Spacey film that is outstanding. You gotta love the cynicism of him in this!
Fight Club - I don't think this really needs an explanation.

Honourable mention goes to Memento - One of the most interesting ideas for a film I've seen. If you havn't seen it, the entire thing is shown in reverse basically. And it's excellent.

Worst:

The Producers - The second films I've ever walked out of in the cinema.
Coyote Ugly - The first film I ever walked out of in the cinema.
Epic Movie and all films of that nature, Meet The Spartans, etc. - Irritating knockoffs of films such as Scary Movie which were at least somewhat funny.

I can't think of any other films I've watched that I really disliked.

God... people need to see a wider variety of films IMO (as in: older, foreign).

Best:

Once Upon a Time in the West
The Seven Samurai
Jaws
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Shawshank Redemption

Worst: (Oh, where to begin...)

Anything Megan Fox was in.
Anything Quentin Tarantino wrote.
Boondock Saints. It fucking sucked. I know it, you know it. Stop perpetuating the myth.
Torture-porn "films". Saw and Hostel fans, I'm looking at you...with pity.
Anything with a frat-boy mentality. Including movies starring/written/directed by, but not limited to: former SNL cast members, Dane Cook, that-guy-who-wrote-Superbad, the American Pie cast (including Allison Hannigan. Damn you, Willow, damn you...). I'd also include all of the parody movies like Scary Movie, Epic Movie, et al.
My ONE exception is The Hangover, but that's only because I've been a fan of Ed Helms since The Daily Show and Zach Galifianakis since he wore a pink tutu and danced to The Bangles "Eternal Flame" during a stand-up bit about 10 years ago. God, that was pure win. Still, The Hangover wasn't that funny.

<< Yeah, I'm rather a movie snob...

Hard to chose but here goes :

5 Best :

Reservoir Dogs - brilliant and that is all, you really need to see it to appreciate the genius

The Bourne Ultimatum - great action/spy movie

V for Vendeta - really surprised by it, great writing and acting, nice plot

The Dark Knight - great action and marvelous joker

Die Hard - basically redefined the action genre when it came out and to this day it still is one of the best if not the very best action movie

5 Worst :

Starship Troopers 3 - the first one wasn't a great movie but it was entertaining, second one took everything that made the first one good and threw it in the garbage but it still had its moments, this however is pure garbage

Batman and Robin - need I say more ?

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation - the first one was bad, but this ? .. I still have nightmares about it

Battlefield Earth - just dumb, bad writing, bad acting, stupid

Junior - this movie has left me scared for life, Arnold should have never stared in this
