"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men." These are the immortal words of everybody's favourite foul-mouthed actor, the one, the only Samuel L. Jackson!

This giant of the silver screen has had many incredible roles over the years, but which of these is his finest hour? Join me motha fuckas, as we countdown The 8 Greatest performances of Samuel L. Jackson!

#8 Idi Amin - The Last King of Scotland

Mr. Jackson put in an absolutely stellar performance as everybody's favourite cannibalistic dictator. Watch your limbs don't end up in his freezer!

#7 Marty The Zebra - Madagascar

He is a zebra! That talks! A role like this would push any normal actor to their limits, but Samuel L. Jackson is no normal actor. This part was just another day at the office for him! It's like Jackson is Goku in 100x Earth's gravity, and all other actors are Paula Deen trying to do Crossfit.

#6 Heimdall - Thor

Jackson is cool, calm and collected in this excellent adaptation of the Asgardian gatekeeper. The Bifrost is in safe hands indeed!

#5 Chesseburger Eddie - The Longest Yard

He's got the shakes that'll make ya quake; he's got the fries that'll cross yo' eyes; he's got the burgers that'll... he's just got burgers...

#4 'The Dark Destroyer' - The Chase

Not content with merely taking over the world of acting, Jackson has taken the quiz-o-sphere by storm! Is there anything this man can't do?

#3 Don Pedro of Aragon - Much Ado About Nothing

In this adaptation of the William Shakespeare's classic comedy, Jackson puts in a performance that would make the Bard of Avon proud.

#2 Snake Plissken - Escape from New York

John Carpenter's excellent political satire rewrote the rulebook on dystopian action thrillers, and Jackson's role as the protagonist Snake Plissken was even the inspiration for Solid Snake in Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear series of video games.

...

And now the moment you've all been waiting for, the greatest performance of Samuel L. Jackson, as voted for by nobody, iiiiiis...

#1 Jules Winnfield - Pulp Fiction

Come on, you knew this was going to be here! The film that turned director Quentin Tarantino into a household name, Jackson stole the show with his portryal as the enigmatic hitman Jules Winnfield.

Who can forget such incredible scenes like hiding a pocketwatch up his anus and overdosing on heroin in a ladies' bathroom? Truly he is the great thespian of our time. Thank you Samuel L. Jackson, for all that you've done for us.

Disagree with my list? Be sure to put some strongly worded comments below and I'll be sure to not read any of them. You can even insult my mother, or make snide comments about the size of my genitalia if you like! I don't mind!

It saddens me that people forget his successful career hosting US game shows.

On a related point, a company I used to work for received a recorded message from (the actual) Samuel L. Jackson thanking us for our work. It was shown to us at a national meetup of the company's UK employees.

I like that he's frontlining the Lakers. Don't think acting was his forté tbh.

Sure, his Much Ado About Nothing performance was stellar, but lest we not forget his earlier forays into the comedy genre:
True proof that this man can handle any genre.

I believe this is what the young whippersnappers call a "thread winner" or a "ohhhh snap."

Not only is he good at comedy acting, he's also a good comedian!

The man truly does it all.

I think we've all missed his greatest and most versatile acting role:

Are we really going to forget Jackson's incredible music and film fusion, that he did all by himself?

What about when he interviewed Halle Berry though?

Her business suit and haircut were so perfect that day

SLJ is my homie, G! Ain't nobody know how to rock the casbah better than that muthafukka!

Fun Fact: The cast and crew were stunned to find out that SLJ didn't need someone to play opposite of him since he could play both fighting roles simultaneously...
Then again, my favorite role of his was when he was part of the animated Avengers series:
Seriously an underrated performance of his, if I do say so myself...

What's astonishing to me isn't that Samuel L.[footnote]The L stands for Motherfuckin'. Actual fact.[/footnote] Jackson is the greatest actor, screenwriter, or musician of our time...but that he can do all this while being PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

Seriously, Fox News needs to stop giving him crap. When was the last time Bill O'Riley dropped a sick beat? Never, that's when.
