i thought that mortal kombat vs. dc was going to be a epic fail, but besides the corny one liners, and the fatality system the fighting controls were quite smooth running to get great combos and does any one how to make a forum? im new and i got a couple of good ideas

I enjoyed Goldeneye 007. Again. On my Mac mini. Via an emulator.

Didn't know that, and yes, I'm super-excited about that game too!

Anyway, with anti-negativity... let's see... Oh, I know! I LOVED Elika in the new PoP, despite what people said about it!

As much as I loathed the werehog segments, Sonic Unleashed was probably the most fun I've had playing a Sonic title in years, and that includes my October re-play of Sonic 2. It's that good, or at least the breakneck fast Sonic sections were.

Same goes for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Sure, it's not quite the technical juggernaut that Street Fighter is, but what can I say? It's a fun game for what it is. Besides, breaking elbows and smashing faces as the big bad Bat never gets old.

I have great hopes for Batman: Arkham Asylum. There have only been two Batman games I can think of that were worth playing: Batman for the original NES and (although I hate to admit it, even to myself) Lego Batman. It's such a shame when a great character/story is made into yet another ultra-crappy game. Especially when it's Batman. Here's hoping!
I completely agree. No comic book character is more deserving of a great next-gen title than Batman, and Arkham Asylum is starting to look like it's going to be that very game. With animated series vets Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy returning to voice the Joker and Batman respectively, a dark and gritty visual style and very interesting art direction, I'm starting to become cautiously optimistic.

Here's hoping indeed.

Well for Halo fans like myself we have three new titles to look forward to this year, Halo ODST, Halo Chronicles, and Halo Wars, all of which (Chronicles excluded because I haven't heard enough about it just yet), seem promising.

From the game modifications department we have all of the DLC coming to Fallout 3, making it look like I'm going to be spending even more time playing it, something I hadn't thought possible. Then there is the Black Mesa Source mod that should finally be released this year, letting me finally experience the first Half Life in all of the current Source engine's glory.

In addition to all of that both Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2 should be coming out this year as well. Showing that it's going to be a damn good year for me.

Edit: As for the stuff I've already experienced, Mirror's Edge gets points for having an ending that put a smile on my face upon its completion, and Gears of War 2 managed to pull the series away from being a mindless shoot fest that the first one had it going towards by introducing some very likable characters, developing on the existing ones, and laying the ground work for an interesting story.

Assassin's Creed was awesome fun. Stabbing a guard in the face with the wristblade midcombat never got old.

TWEWY (The World Ends With You) was one of the best handheld games I've ever played, and can easily suck away my time when I'm not playing Far Cry 2, which was also a very high quality game.

What else was good this year... Oh yeah, FALLOUT 3, for one. Best game I've ever played, hands down. If you don't agree, you can suck it.

Left 4 Dead was a surprise smash hit, a game I figured I'd return within a week actually turned out to be very, very good.

2008 was still an up-and-down year. Fable 2 was absolute garbage, which really disapointed it. Xplay gave it the Game of The Year award, which is complete bollocks. (I'm not British, so I will accept my stoning without crying.)

Guitar Hero World Tour was a pretty shameless rip-off of Rock Band, but it's the most competent one, and the setlist is still enjoyable, albeit rather easy.
I'll disagree. The setlist was the worst one yet. In an attempt to make it a) Accesible to everyone and b) to make sure that all parts were fun to play, they completely killed the formula.
I still think that Rocks The 80s had the best setlist.
The setlist definitely wasn't the best, but you can't say no to Hotel California.
Oh, of course, I loved Hotel California, Livin' On A Prayer, Sweet Home Alabama, Up Around The Bend and Are You Gonna Go My Way (yes, I'm a sucker for old tunes), but it's a pity that such amazing songs share the same game as others (I mean, Pat Benatar's got two songs, one in GH3, one in WT, but there's no sign of Led Zeppelin yet)
As someone said, Led Zeppelin just don't like the idea. However, there will be a Rock Band: The Beatles.

I didn't think CoD:WaW was a bad game, but then its the first CoD game I've played actually set in WW2 time ;)

Left 4 Dead also sucked up many hours of my life with its epicness.

I'm looking forwards to a sequel to the new Prince of Persia game, as I really want to see where they will go with that story.

You know what, Halo isn't such a bad game. It's rather fun to play with friends. And the story isn't really original, but it's compelling nonetheless.

Also, since it had to be said (I.E. this is pretty much my reason for coming here, and a lot of bashing goes on here), teens aren't all dumb shits. They don't need to be totally protected from themselves, and a good bit of them are actually fairly good people.
