I hate that the whole community of xbox LIVE (AKA the pinnacle of dumbassery) Always is about ten percent of a new kind of snot-nosed nerd using the internet as their iron sheild. I'd like to bring up the subject of the Anti-religion gamer. Now note how I didn't say athiest, because i don't hate them, it's the ones who fish in the verbal lakes of LIVE for ways to talk down to anyone who has a religion.

EXAMPLE:

Gamer 1: "Oh my God! These guys are really good!"

Anti-religion gamer: "theres no such thing as God you idiot."

Now I'm not sure why they do this unprevoked, but it also happens on the forums. Do they do it because they are self-conscious? Or maybe just to troll?

And thats why I moved to PSN and Steam :)

EDIT: OT: Im Agnostic, but I rip it out of the "Anti-Religion gamer", as they are usually as dumb as my pet rock (Sorry rocky), so any form of logic and they shut up.

Right because this is just an XBL thing and not an internet thing. Good plan.

I've got to agree, I hate XBL online; I pretty much never use it, and I'm cancelling my subscription come renewal time. I've always had better experiences on PSN and Steam, XBL just seems rife with ignorance, bigotory and chauvinism. Rarely have I played on XBL without being insulted or disgusted by the comments of others. At times I think I'd be less disgusted at a Ku Klux Klan meeting.

There is a time and a place to rag on peoples religions, namely when they try to claim some special right over you because of it. I really cannot see how playing games on the internet could warrant it.

either people who think it's "cool" to hate religion, or
and they are just trying to piss someone off.

Well I hear next to none of it on the other two systems, (even though I am still paying for XBL Gold -.-). I do realise it is everywhere though :p

That's not anti-religion, that's just good old fashioned pedantic semantics-its as good a substitute for a personality as any, I suppose...

I likewise find PSN and the majority of PC gaming (except blizzard games for some reason) to have much more well behaved denizens.

Sometimes they do it because they are trolls, sometimes they do it because they're bloody idiots.

Ah, PSN... where you never have to fear verbal abuse because you can never hear what the hell people are saying... :3

I agree that's it's just trolling.

But I've also been on the Total War Center. That game... I found it difficult to find a relious person in the whole bunch.

Some are truly against religion while most just say it's not for them, which I can respect.

Never ran into said people before. Course, I typically play steam games with the same three to five people and it works out pretty damn well.

Personally, I hate religion, but not having faith in higher powers. I'm cool with people wanting to believe in a god and talking to him (even if they come off as a bit crazy sometimes). I just can't stand the "Organized Religion" part of the whole thing. To me, Religion (not faith) is a huge scam to get people to pay a tax free service that does nothing but give you their idea of what the bible means. Hell, the stuff in the bible may just be a really old story that we're all taking too seriously. Why should people have to pay for that service and why the hell is it even a service in the first place?

Boy, I think I got off topic there for a sec. I know an Atheist and he's okay and doesn't get in people's face about how god doesn't exist. In fact, I have yet to meet anyone who is in your face about it to the point of being Anti-Religion, so I can't say I know exactly what you're talking about. Sorry.
