and is it just me or is this a huge thread for fanboys
Don't flame, it's just retarded doing that..

Anyways, judging by how awesome Elites are, I bet the Arbiter didn't even die, he just became invisible and walked home.
Getting impaled by your own plasma sword kinda limits your options as far as walking home is concerned. :p

But we know that the Prophet and probably most of the Covenant got out before the whole place went boom, so like it's already been mentioned, they probably retrieved the armor. I mean, the marines just tossed it on the ground like a piece of trash; it's not like the UNSC went through the trouble to obliterate the thing.

Halo wars is non-cannon. The studio itself said this. It's simply "this is what we think would have been cool to happen".

Another clue to this: You see the Flood during the campaign. The Flood, a race you supposedly discover on the first installation in Halo: CE. There are a few more but thats the basics.
Proof or it didn't happen.

Also, at the end of Halo Wars. They dump their FTL (Faster than Light) Drive, to detonate the planet so the Forerunner ships can't be taken over by the Covenant. That's why at the end of Halo Wars. We see the Spirit of Fire only slowly drifting through space, with all the crew on board going or already in cryogenic stasis. It'll be a long road home for them, because they can't make slipspace jumps.

Oh, and that means that they couldn't get back to UNSC controlled space, to report the flood. So they weren't documented until Halo: CE. Who knows what other craft may have bumped into the flood before Halo: CE and weren't documented due to the lack of survivors.

Good explanation; I hadn't really thought that much about it and your idea makes sense. I'm pretty sure the UNSC wouldn't use cryogenic stasis if they could just FTL jump from place to place, so yeah, Halo Wars is definitely canon.

Well the UNSC FTL is still fairly slow. It can take 3-4 weeks to reach a destination so they have cryo pods for nonessential crew.

That's why Chief was in a Cryopod at the beginning of Halo: CE. He wasn't essential to keep the ship running, so *Blip* into Cryopod you go MC.

I've changed the topic title to "The Arbiter Armour and other Lore in Halo that needs rectifying"

That way we can discuss the rest of the inconsistencies that occur.

When you build a universe that big, you're bound to have stuff like this happen.

But yeah, I liked the argument that the Prophets lied about the armor.
