As Pixie and Bennie continued talking, Amy studied each of her new comrades in turn. Some looked fairly calm, centred, others not so much.
"He won' give you a hard time, I promise."
And then she kissed her, in front of everyone (barring Bennie of course). Amy couldn't help but be a little dumbstruck. She had expected a fuller introduction at some point soon of course, but not quite in that fashion. Would the rest of the crew think it unfair that the new girl was being so visibly favoured above them? She looked to them again, acutely aware that she stood alone, all eyes on her. Aesop appeared not to have noticed, Warren was muttering something unintelligible, and she did not like the look in his eyes. Cameron's eyebrows had shot up into her hairline, and Brock looked to be in need of some urgent alone time.
Was this the way Pixie behaved towards each of her lovers when introducing them to her family, or was Amy a special case. More importantly, why wasn't Amy able to deduce the answer for herself. This was normally the sort of thing she was good at.
Did love make everyone this stupid?
Shaking loose these thoughts, Amy straightened up again, and faced the crew just as she new how to face all the other situations in which she was shown off. She could do this, she did it all the time. All they needed from her was a sign that she belonged. Slowly, she glided towards Randy, something like pity flashing across her eyes for only a moment.
"Do you know who I am?" she asked quietly.
"Yes." Randy's voice was hoarse.
"I have many sisters Randy, and I promise each of them that they will always have my protection, and that, should any harm come to them, the perpetrators will be brought to justice. I'm a Maiden now, which I suppose makes everyone here a sister of mine too."
Amy leaned in close to whisper in his ear.
"This is what happens to people who hurt my sisters."
Her hand, which had been slowly creeping up between Randy's legs, suddenly clenched, hard, and twisted. Randy whimpered, then moaned, then screamed, but Amy kept on twisting, not letting up for at least half a minute, until Randy was no longer standing, and Brock was having to take all his weight just to keep the man upright.
"Right," she said, brushing her hand together and turning to face the Boomhower team once more "Shall we move on?"
"He won' give you a hard time, I promise."
