As well as the sinking of the battleship Bismarck, which was the most powerful ship at the time until the I.J.N Yamato, by bi-planes carrying torpedoes because the advanced sonars couldn't target them fast enough. The reason for that was because they moved too slow. That knowledge I know because I love ships and I plan on being a Naval Engineer.
