Subject Lost, you have to make it to a certain spot on the field for you to either A) Kick a field goal worth 3 points or more likely get a first down. It's a fair way to get it. You must make it 10 yards to be a first down but the defense will try to stop you or even reclaim the ball in an interception or fumble. It makes the game easier to follow and gives both teams a fair amount of chances. Now Flags can make it harder for one to make a first down or throw it far.
