Subject Sass he commented on Sir John's thread that went off telling people were jerks when they argued and made himself to be superior to that and Razor tore him a new one; it was glorious

Sir John:
Before I begin, allow me to say that I have no desire to silence anyone's opinions. I think the fact that opinions can be brought to the table and presented in contrast to others is hallmark of human spirit.

But then introduce someone who brings an opinion to the table that doesn't make much sense, it's questionable that they even researched this opinion and probably developed it on hearsay. To make matters worse, they're not really interested in a debate. They just want to shove their opinion down your throat. Of course, it doesn't take a poorly developed opinion to be belligerent. One just has to approach a debate without the willing to consider another option and the best way to do that is to be rude.

I'm getting tired of going out into the general community populace and trying to make a point with an argument. It seems when I do this, someone(or sometimes several someones) will counter my argument with a rebuttal that can usually be described as half-baked and rude. Now, not everyone out there does this, but they seem to be quite a minority as compared to those who simply want to ram some bizarre status quo down our collective throats.

Something else that irks me is people who don't bother making their own viewpoints. They simply parrot the views of someone who is well known, like say Yahtzee, Moviebob or these Extra Credits people. It's one thing to say you agree with something that someone in that position might say, it's another thing entirely to allow them to dictate your opinions.

Then there's the aspect of hostility and rudeness that just way too commonplace. I realize that on the internet, anonymity is viewed as a license to be a jerk. But it begs the eternal question of should you do something just because you can? I don't think that's the case. And I wish people wouldn't be so quick to start name-calling.

Maybe it's just me, maybe I don't fit in with the populace. I'm more than willing to entertain that possibility since it's been quite a constant in my life. It's just seems like the majority of time I spend looking at things from an analytical standpoint is ultimately wasted if no one is willing to entertain the results.

Nurse Ratched...drugs please?
Razor's Response

Fuck it, I've had enough of your bullshit and I'm not putting up with it anymore.

Before I begin, allow me to say that I have no desire to silence anyone's opinions. I think the fact that opinions can be brought to the table and presented in contrast to others is hallmark of human spirit
Firstly, could your head be any further up your own arse right now?

But then introduce someone who brings an opinion to the table that doesn't make much sense, it's questionable that they even researched this opinion and probably developed it on hearsay. To make matters worse, they're not really interested in a debate. They just want to shove their opinion down your throat. Of course, it doesn't take a poorly developed opinion to be belligerent. One just has to approach a debate without the willing to consider another option and the best way to do that is to be rude.
You mean the way you approach debates whenever I see you on the site? Like in that ZP comments section that got you modwrathed for attacking Yahtzee over a difference of opinion on whether or not a character from FFVII was a flaky bint? And then you proceeded to argue with the people that thought she was a stupid character and turned it into a flame war where your opinion of a character was right and everyone that disagreed was wrong?

Who was doing the shoving down who's throat then? Also, it's highly amusing that you said you'd had enough of Yahtzee and would no longer bother deal with him, yet you keep commenting on ZP videos and attacking him in them. There's a word for that - trolling.

The general community is probably getting tired of seeing you too. If you weren't such a condescending ass in a lot of your posts when you disagree with them, people wouldn't be so hostile. As it stands, you act like a condescending ass and throw a tantrum like a little kid if someone disagrees with you.

Also, it's positively delicious that you say you have no respect for the community in general, whilst constantly whining and making references about how you don't seem to fit in anywhere and that people are hostile towards you. Perhaps it's the distinct lack of respect with which you treat people that you disagree with that leads to them being belligerent and hostile towards you? Just a thought.

I'm only going to explain this once, so pay attention here - have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the people that parrot Yahtzee and the like do it because they agree with them? It's a hard concept to grasp, but other peoples opinions on a subective experience like gaming are just as valid as yours, regardless of wherever they picked up the exact wording they use. If you paid any attention at all, you'd see that the Yahtzee fanboys do disagree with him occasionally, but most of the time they agree with what he says because it matches their own views on things.

9 times out of 10, you're the one that starts hostilities by implying that the people that disagree with you are moronic, braindead followers of Yahtzee etc.

It works both ways. Other people probably wish that you'd go through with your whole "I'm done with Yahtzee" comment, instead of continuing to troll the ZP/Extra Punctuation comment sections and starting flame wars with people that disagree with you.

Maybe it's just me, maybe I don't fit in with the populace. I'm more than willing to entertain that possibility since it's been quite a constant in my life. It's just seems like the majority of time I spend looking at things from an analytical standpoint is ultimately wasted if no one is willing to entertain the results.
And another reason people get all pissy in arguments with you is how you will not stop going on and on about how you've had a hard life with never fitting in with anyone. It's fucking goddamned annoying to constantly see this shit. You already made your thread about it, so stop bloody bringing it up. All it does is make it look like you're trying to get sympathy from people because "Woe is me, the general community is hostile. It's always been like this, throughout my whole life. I don't understand why people are so hostile towards me when I talk down to them and consider them unworthy of my respect."

Respect is a 2-way street mate. You want to keep thinking that they're unworthy of respect, then they'll just keep being belligerent and hostile. What you're really doing with this thread is bitching and moaning about a group of people that are hostile towards you because you're hostile towards them. Hypocrisy, thy name is Sir John.

TL;DR Don't be an asshat to people, and most of them won't be an asshat to you.

Subject Void, I call bullshit. Virgin maidens are a fairy tale from the distant past, they no longer exist in this day and age.

....thanks Subject Sass. It's...
It's just too awesome that he's officially our problem now.

Subject Max, I am currently accepting sacrifices. I'm still not entirely sure why Void thinks they are virgins, but I'm rolling with it.

Subject Max, it appears we are discussing virgin maidens. XD

Enjoy beating him down again and again, subject Razor. It'll be good practice for something, some when.

Subject Sass well then I'll have my critique to you tonight in my normal format

Hey Subject Max look back one page to see why Subject Razor is getting sacrificed to

Subject Razor that's why it took so long, you gotta pretty much travel to the ends of the Earth these days to find a virgin maiden
