The Avengers. Thankfully Whedon made it work!

Saw the Avengers here in Australia last night and boy it delivers at times. While it isn't quite as good as Hellboy, Iron Man or Spiderman 2 it is still great. It's definitely better than the recent superhero movies like Captain America and Green Lantern.

Though it does have some pacing issues, especially in the first half, it still manages to deliver by the end and everyone gets enough screen time for all fans to be happy. For all the Whedon fans out there, his trademark humour is throughout this flick and it's perfect. I won't spoil it until the Yanks have had a chance to see it but boy it's a fun flick.

A million times better than Green Lantern and Captain America. Shits all over Iron Man 2. Slightly better than Thor (which was a fan movie) but not quite up with the best superhero movies.

Definitely check it out.

If you've read the Astonishing X-Men comic series by Whedon you'll know what to expect from him with superheroes. Very fun flick.

Btw, Hellboy is probably my favourite comic/superhero movie.

Yea, it's Thanos for sure, I also think the smaller character he was talking to was Annihilus

About the Avengers itself: It's by far the best Super Hero movie out there.
If you liked the previous Marvel films, then you'll love this!

They were crap, it's way better than them. It really hard to say how good it is, because of how heavily it relies on all the other movies. But it's a hoot and funny too.

For people out there with proper tastes, it is substantially better than Hellboy and Spiderman 2. EDIT: In fact it dwarfs those 2 movies entirely. Also saw it last night and it was a great movie, probably one of the best super hero movies ever made.

But whatever. I'm seeing Avengers tomorrow, so I can judge for myself.
