I am quite surprised that MW3 and Skyrim did not win a single thing and happy that Portal 2 did so well.

Wow, it wasn't complete shit this time around. I'm surprised. Although the winners for best innovation and best story seem kind of wrong to me. At least they didn't give the awards to games completely undeserving of them.

Look at that, Mark Hamill winning a Performance award. At least I can agree with something here

But some of the nominations don't make sense... Deus Ex: HR and Dark Souls in Strategy? I can sort of see where they were going with that, but that's a hell of a leap.

Game innovation nominations, and award, given to sequels.

At least Portal 2 did surprisingly well. Love that game.

Exactly what I felt. I mean, what the hell? A game that was basically the album version of a ep gets a award for innovation?

L.A. Noire wasn't a amazing game, but it had a better claim to that award than Portal 2.

Also Bastion should have one it....

Or From Dust.

Any of them deserved to win it, except the one that actually did .

I wonder, what other game would people choose for innovation really? Which game You would call innovative?

Considering the nominations,

Audio award is spot on, artistic achievement is decent as well, Strategy is good, Action is good, Story is good, Performer is spot on, Browser game is good.

While there surely could be better choice of nominated titles for various categories, at least in large part the winners themselves aren't completely out of place.

I think this is best overall set of awards yet. Im impressed it came from my country.

Now send those results to spike under the header

This is how you do game awards shows
Same, it all seems very well deserved.
I'm just especially delighted Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim won none of those awards.
Very happy Battlefield 3 and Portal 2 won the awards they did, though.
And finally, Rayman: Origins was very well deserved; it's beautiful. They can wear that 'BAFTA-winning' sticker with pride. Well, digital sticker, anyway.

wow. Somebody likes Little Big Planet 2. A lot of the things it was nominated for doesn't really apply to it.

And there are exactly...0 surprises there. Except perhaps for the fact that there even is a innovation category. I don't agree with most of them, but Mark Hamill is an excellent Joker.

Well no game really stood out this year in terms of innovation or story. Games like Half-Life, portal 1, old rpg's etc still stand above this year's games.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure you can name 5 stories in games better than Skyrim and 5 games that are more innovative than a Zelda game haha.

Nice to see Rayman Origins getting the recognition it deserves, but LBP 2 winning the innovation awards? Someone needs to remind them that if the original game is innovative, that doesn't make the sequel innovative, because, well, it's a sequel.

Well I couldn't. I hear good things about journey. Did thatgamescompany's other games like flower come out this year? And Mass Effect 3 wasn't as well written as the better part of the original, but better than 2 at least. Other than that I don't really have a clue.

Ok wait. They gave the 2012 awards away this early in the year? Why?
These are 2011 games.

2011 Games with better stories than Skyrim:
Witcher 2
Le Bastion
Human Revolution
Portal 2
Spess Mehreen
Basically anything.

And you can find way over 5 games with more innovation than Skyward Sword here [http://www.roguetemple.com/7drl/2011/] alone.
