Im more inclined to believe its a BG2 remake/HD version; the background music on the website is located in a folder called "overhaul" and I just noticed the background image is made up of all the character portraits from BG2.

Actually, they're the characters from BG1 not BG2. So, I'm thinking it's probably going to be something to do with BG1 rather than both of them.

Im one of the (I would think many) others who actually hasnt played BG 1&2. Don't get me wrong, RPG's are in my DNA and my favorites among them include Dragon Age: Origins and I knew it was the spiritual successor so I'll have to admit, Im excited as well.

I never played the original Baldurs Gate games, but I'd look forward to a retake on the series, if done well.

Neverwinter Nights was supposed to be the successor to the BG franchise and it was alright. Then Dragon Age was supposed to be the successor to that, and it was terrible. Now we're coming full-circle and Baldur's Gate is back in the spotlight?

The D&D system is no longer in AD&D (2.0). It's in 4.0 and struggling at that. It won't be a Baldur's Gate proper game.

Plus, with consolification, the controls won't be nearly the same. If anything we'll get a Dragon Age 1-like game if it is actually BG3.

HD Remake makes the most sense.

not only that but i think most magic users are dead since the spellpague thing not sure if magic it self is still around haven't really read up on the new settling. and they seem to have gotten rid of the place one of my favorite series is set Maztica
