That's easy. You didn't read the last sentence. It's clearly stated that the dog barked every time 20 seconds passed. So if he barked 2000 times and the the speed of the train was 88mph. Find the distance. Easy stuff.
problem is, the speed of the train isnt a constant, since it changes by nearby tornados and dragons grabbing the tracks and changing the location...
and the dog does
not bark every 20 seconds, since its only an average!
though I did forget about the value of the birthday cake that was thrown at the driver a few days before he passed out and found himself kidnapped by cyber-terrorists, and... well, I wont want to repeat the question entirely...
