I thought that was what being banned did as standard.

Bans are the moderator's last resort, a way to eliminate a user's foul activity on the forum for good, by going so far as to ban the very IP where the user came from (and thus preventing them from creating a new account). Better known as the Perma-Ban.

This was a helpful guide I must say. For a somewhat new poster on the Escapist, It sure helped me figure out the guidelines on the forums. When I first joined I feared that something I might say could get a probation by accident, (I say probation because there is no reason for me to be troll or feed them getting me suspended or banned), but thanks to this I can honestly say, I have no worries.

Aww, man. That mean sI can't get those badges because I was on probation when I started? I thought it meant you have to have a clean streak of 1000 and Mod Wrath resets the badges' counters.
I'm confused, though. It said that newcomers get waarnings, and it was like my 10th post, called pointless, which I didn't think it was.

EDIT: No, wait I remember. It was well deserved, I had posted offensive material, since I discovered this site not more than 10 minutes after I finished lurking on 4chan. I forgot that other places had rules, and standards, and the sort.

It's just a joke you can do with BB Code, he wasn't actually banned for it. When someone's banned the post gets spoilered and it will say "User was banned for this post, click to view."
