Well...Which Crash game was it? If it was Crash 1, I'd understand. Those bridge levels are hard as balls. Q_Q
Yeah it's Crash one, unless he couldn't think of the game he liked and just put Crash Bandicoot as some indicator.

I can't say whether or not there was any rhyme or reason to sharing this info about him, but it certainly violates my stance against turning killers into celebrities.

Oh no, he played Crash Bandicoot? What, did he make a wooden mask and tried to run into people? Did he spin around or jump on peoples heads?

Jesus Christ, next time they'll say that playing Kiry's Epic Effing Yarn makes you a serial killer. For Shame, BBC.

"finally"

k.

Anyways, did we expect any different? They think they've found a connection, so they'll talk about it. Nothing we can do.

Agreed, I will always think the names of these people should be withheld.

So breaking up poor single parent family's by sending the parents to prison and the children in to care homes for not buying a t.v license didn't do that, but saying video games lead to violence did ?.

Hmmm he is 15 year old, what does he like? Loud music and video games. What show we blame ignoring all medical and personal issues? Gaming. lol. Its pathetic, its a cop out. Its lazy. Today on the radio i was listening to a news show about this an the question was "why do you think its ok for a kid to play 18 rated games?" erm its 18 so they shouldnt play it. lol. So retarded.

I didn't know mentioning something a killer like equates to blaming their behaviour on it. Does that mean Hannibal is actually a damning indictment of Chianti and Fava Beans? Did the director discover a hidden link between beans alcohol and cannibalism?

Mind=Blown

But in all seriousness I've never understood this victim complex many gamers seem to have. No accusation was made, the only one presenting a connection here is you.

Also if I had a penny for every time some gormless mouth breather has accused the Beeb of being left/right leaning I'd be mildly better off than I am now. It's like they expect everything to be reported only and solely as they want to hear it and if that doesn't happen, well it's "biased" to whatever side of the political spectrum you oppose.

If you don't want to pay the license don't watch TV it's kinda simple. Also you know it's a fine not instantly go to jail do not pass go affair.

OT: Slight exaggeration I'd say to compare the BBC to Fox News and after reading the article it didn't seem that bad.

I played Crash Bandicoot once. Once! It was all I could handle.

Within an hour I had consumed thousands of apples and, high on natural sugars, started spinpunching people and tiny animals to death. I also became very good at yoyoing and hog-riding. I also grew a disposition to munching on random things and doing silly dances whenever I stood silent for more than twenty seconds.

Really, were there no better examples on his facebook page than this?

To be fair they didn't say those hobbies were a link to what he did or anything. Though I wonder if they would have included it in the report if his facebook showed classical music and cricket.
They wouldn't. They don't have the balls to directly say what they think. So they just imply things. It's cowardly and it has nothing to do with real journalism.
Well they're not really supposed to. They're supposed to be impartial and just report the news, or report views from both sides. This is of course due to their very nature as a publically funded broadcast company. And frankly I like having a news report that is just that; a news /report/ without any opinonised or misleading points. But theres room for both opinionated news and impartial news. They both serve certain needs. Of course it would be naive to think that the BBC is totally impartial, but you get my point right?

Journalism isn't all about sensationalist fear mongering, or hammering your opinion into skewing the news, or forwarding your agenda against communism/facism whether that be right or left. Sometimes its about telling people what happened, and letting them think for themselves. In fact, it was supposed to be about the truth. Presenting the facts.

The only thing BBC News is good at is spewing propaganda.
Spewing propaganda, like exposing and reporting on the gorvernment's and it's own gargantuan fuck-ups? I'm pretty sure I've heard more about BBC mismanagement through BBC reports than through any other news source.

Or, perhaps they simply try to report the facts and let people decide what to think. Granted the facts will almost always be presented with some sort of bias, but that much is unavoidable. Still significantly better than making false claims and presenting them as facts.
