Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, have fascinating twists in the realms of fantasy,

20,000 leagues under the sea by Jules Verne in terms of classics,

Well in all honesty all the stories in the world are told it's just how authors approach them that gives variety and the refreshing new look (Thus the first two authors described above)

Those are the my favorites in terms of fiction the rest usually are non-fiction writings (sometimes reality is stranger than fiction)

Brave New World a super mind fuck
I'm one of those people who after reading that book started counting the days until we could be delivered into such a paradise.
well it wasn't really a "good" paradise

That's perspective. I'm a transsexual and if society worked like in that book the majority of issues I've faced and traumatic events in my life would be non-issue or wouldn't have happened in the first place.

The world is overpopulated with stupid unhappy people. A system that could control what kind of people down to their personalities and job dispositions are born (including the enjoyment of their roles in system) would fix so many of the world's problems. Its appealing to people who have first hand expense with how shitty the gutty of this society is.
