Every "Meet the Team" Video for TF2. Perfectly sums up each character, doing a whole game's worth of devlopement in 3 minutes or less.

If they don't count, then:

The scene right before the final battle with Gannondorf in Zelda Wind Waker. You know what? The entire Zelda WW Endgame. From before Puppet Gannon to after the credits.
I'd say the Meet the Team videos absolutely count. Some of the best character development in gaming right there.

The LoZ:WW cutscenes were also great, but my favorite would have to be the one immediately after the final, final Ganondorf battle. It just transitioned so seamlessly from gameplay to cutscene, and then the scene itself was awesome.

I vote this one. Gravemind is awesome, and at the end Master Chief does his thing.

I have this video bookmarked just for when this thread comes up every now and again:

Because it's the most epic cutscene ever, of course!
Yeah I remember that one, bought World In Conflict recently, brilliant game.
Also whats the song? At the start Ive got no idea what it is then later on it sounds like Soundgarden crossed with Pearl Jam or something.

Anyways, there are so maybe great cutscenes that its hard to chose just one, but id go with the Killzone 1 intro.
And is it just me or are the Helghast the most sympathised with villains of all time?
Seriously, go on pretty much forum topic, online chat, video or whatever to do with Killzone and people will be saying they are the good guys.

I have never watched a skippable cutscene to be honest with you... although it would have to be a Alpha Protocol one because I had to sit there and talk so I couldn't skip them.

This scene. It was a ***** to do but it sums up my feelings for the entire franchise. It was cool but it's good to see some closure finally too.

Apparently it's "Shadow On The Sun" by Audioslave. I don't particularly like it, but it is very fitting.

The ending to Metal Gear Solid 4. It's truly the absolute most satisfactory ending to a franchise I've ever seen.

Mass Effect 2's opening scene and the twist scene in Knights of the Old Republic come close. MGS3 also had a fantastic ending.

Forgot Red Dead Redemption. I don't even have to explain that one or specify what I'm talking about.

This cutscene just proves that Curtis Blackburn is the most badass villain in a video game.

EDIT: Wow, 600 posts in a little over 2 years.

My favourite cutscene...

Ah-hah! Well, okay, it isn't my favourite as such.. but certainly most memorable.

Genso Suikoden V, the 'assassination' of Queen Arshtat at the hands of House Godwin and Nether Gate. We all saw the fall of the Sol Falenan royal family coming.. but I don't think many of us thought the murder we expected would be so gut-wrenchingly subverted.

Context Note: Bearing the Sun Rune slowly makes you go power-mad. Actually using it tends to makes you flip out completely - which Ferid realised.

Metal Gear Solid 4's story may be strange, convoluted and torn between hellishly realistic and goofily dumb, but the cutscene where Liquid Ocelot takes over the System is fucking awesome.

Mine would have to be,

In the original Kingdom Hearts where Sora unlocks his heart to bring Kairi back to life.
I don't know what it is, some combination of music, cinematics and that it had just been the toughest boss so far.

It might just be seeing Donald Duck almost cry though.

Warcraft 3 title sequence.

It's not much to look at these days but it tells you everything you need to know about the game itself without bogging you down in a lot of backstory.
I think it works for me because it ends with a great shot of Human and Orc blood mixing together as the Burning legion rains down on Azeroth.

Which, although cliche' is a great way of portraying one of the underlying themes of the entire game.
