the best cutscene, and why? you must choose only one!

I loved the ending from Final Fantasy IX. Back before the Internet ruined anything you didn't buy and play on release day starting nonstop from the midnight launch, something like the twist in that ending had a lot more emotional impact. Brought a tear of joy to my eye.

And the demise of Megaton is epic, although I've only actually done it with my own character once---a throwaway character created solely to see that scene and then retired. I can't bring myself to be evil in Fallout 3.

Seeing Rhinehart from "Privateer 2: The Darkening"

Possibly THE peak of Full Motion Video Cutscenes in video games. You have Christopher Walken, Clive Owen and David Warner acting in one of the best exposistion in any video game!

Interestingly, I feel the same way about cutscenes in games as you do about rolling text in cutscenes. Granted, a cutscene takes a lot more work to produce, but I still think it's a lot lazier than trying to incorporate that information into gameplay.

While I prefer GTA IV in terms of gameplay, the cutscenes in Saints Row 2 are nothing short of art. They manage to be somewhat Tarantino-esque but also be really really good even if they are mostly satire.

And here is, in my humble opinion, the best one.

It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO corny for me when I wacthed it. I was just relieved I could finally beat Jecht.

EDIT: Forgot to include mine. It God of War 3 Kratos vs Hercules. Why? Its the realest looking cutscene IV'E EVER SEEN IN MY FUCKING LIFE. I was saying "WTF WTF thats not thats not possible!" The whole time

None. Because they too often get in the way of gameplay, or dont make any logical sense (since they are meant to look pretty/spectacular..and they dont often get along with common sense). Introductions/conclusions animations are okay.
