Okay, wait. What's wrong with the first two episodes? I haven't seen all of them, but I enjoyed the first two a hell of a lot more than any of the others.

As far as I can tell, they're girly and embarrass a lot of the more insecure bronies. I happened to love them, but then I'm secure in my masculinity, and spend a lot of time watching cartoons, of which MLP is just one series.

I think that's perfect, especially if the person has no idea what's different about the show. Just a normal girly kids cartoon about parties and generic stuff like that... Then suddenly OH GOD WHY HAS SHE GONE SO CRAZY?!?
This, and probably Episode 15 or 7.
15 because Pinkie is awesome, and the whole episode is hilarious.
7 because Fluttershy being Fluttershy is epic win.

So, I've recently told one of my friends about my... "fascination" with FiM. It went about as well as can be expected:

"Uh, are you gay? It's totally cool if you are, but are you?"

...yeah, didn't go well. Anyways, I'm trying to convince them to watch an episode, and I'm trying to think which episode would be best to introduce them to the show. Since, as we all know, the first two episodes... kinda suck. Or at least, don't give a very good impression of show.

Right now, I'm thinking episode 7 (Dragonshy), might be a good place to start. So, what episode do you guys think would be the best starting place? Oh, and for extra discussion value, where did YOU start watching the show at? (I started with the first episode myself, thankfully I was able to stick with the show past the first two-parter).

please describe to me he plot of any episode of "FiM", so that i know for sure youre really a true ponylover, then ill answer...

23. It gives a good intro to each character through the flashbacks about each pony's cutie mark.

I think the two part pilot is seriously underrated; I started with it, and I quite enjoyed it.
In-deed.

Personally, to people who overreact about the cutesy content, they would probably enjoy Lesson Zero, Party of One, and perhaps Sonic Rainboom.

If they've grown interested after seeing those, but still want your recommendations, proceed to show them Winter Wrap Up, Best Night Ever, and Fall Weather Friends.

Actually, scratch that, I'll try to attempt a ranking order.
1. Lesson Zero
2. Party of One
3. Fall Weather Friends
4. Sonic Rainboom
5. The Best Night Ever
6. Winter Wrap Up
7. Applebuck Season
8. Feelin' Pinkie Keen
9. DragonShy
10. May the Best Pet Win!

Purely based upon people with a ridiculous aversion to cute. Which are, quite simply, the opposite of who I am.

Whoa, this is one old thread! And no one ever posted a link to the user group. It's about time someone corrected this injustice.

Wow, I didn't realize that at all. I just saw it on the first page and assumed it was new.

Sorry, everyone.

7 (Dragonshy) was the first episode I watched, and it is also the one I would reccomend.

And I'd have to agree that the pilot episodes, while somewhat enjoyable, aren't exactly a good representation of the series as a whole.
<color=#f7f7f7>A couple years ago, and I never thought I'd be saying that about My Little Pony of all things. An amusing juxtaposition.

I've seen a couple of necroed threads relatively recently. I generally agree with the "use the search bar" sentiment, but be careful of what you dig up guys. This is a few months old, so I suppose it's not too bad.

What the dick. There was no point to necro this...

OT: Boast Busters personally, but my friend said Party of One convinced him.

Dragonshy is my favorite, so it's the one I've always used. It's the one that proves beyond a doubt that Fluttershy is best pony.

Friendship is magic, why, because it's the start of the series and if you have to justify cherry picking an episode because you're afraid the person is too close minded give up already.
Would you seriously keep watching the show if the first episode you saw was about ponies singing songs about making dresses for a ball and holding a fashion show? Yeah, Suited For Success is a solid episode, but it's also _extremely_ girly.

EDIT: >sees something about necro
>checks date on first post
Oh, my bad.
