I'm not asking what your favorite movie is, I'm asking for the best overall experience it has given you. Whether it be seeing something in an iMAX for the first time, or something like the Deathproof+Planet Terror double feature.

For me it would be seeing Avatar the first time in 3D. It was the only 3D experience I actually enjoyed.

Cloverfield. That movie is at its' best on the first viewing and in the theaters. No other way of seeing it can compare. I was literally on the edge of my seat throughout the movie and I can chalk it up as my favorite movie viewing experience yet. A close second was District 9.

When I went to see The Spy Next Door, my friends and I were the only people in the theater so we could make fun of the movie as loud as we wanted.

Buying a ticket for that freakin Ponyo show(I went with my family, more or less for my little bro) and I ended up not being able to sit through the first five minutes. So I just went acroos the hall to another show that hadn't started yet. Turns out it was Transformers(slightly more endurable than Ponyo) but the awesome thing was, almost all my friends were there. I had forgotten they had invited me to go to the movies before, I had turned them down(because they didn't know when they were going to go, And I had a busy schedule) so it was a pleasant surprise.

Went to see Watchmen with my girlfriend two weeks after it opened. We were the only people in the theatre.

Seeing District 9 and Inglourious Basterds in the same day, with only a short break for a cappuccino at Cafe Sorrentino's. It was one of the best days ever. My head almost overflowed with the awesome when Inglourious Basterds was playing.

Second best would be going to see The Wolfman while (slightly beyond) tipsy. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Total shit movie, but in the hilarious way.

I went and saw Transformers with my three friends, right at the very tail end of its stay in theatres. And it was hilarious. We were the only four people in the theatre, so we sat at opposite corners and trash talked the movie so loud we could hear each other. Great time great time.

Ummm. Probably when I when to see Evan almighty years ago. Not that the film was good. It sucked... just the fact that I was alone in the theater with my mates. We had a great laugh :] (Also I know I've been multi-ninja'd)

*Puts on crappy French accent*

Oh, ho ho!

OP: Uh....... I saw Ice Age in a personal theater. The kind they rent out to offices and stuff.
No one rented it, so I got to get a personal showing.

The reclining chairs...I couldn't care less about Wolverine, I was just spending two hours sipping Pepsi in a big ol' comfy-ass chair.

Man, that movie was great.
I concur. I saw it in 3D. I was sitting exactly where you get the full effect of it.

Blew me away, I was stuck to my seat afterward. I left the cinema and my legs were shaking like I'd just been anally raped.

But I wasn't, I was Eye-raped!
Hear hear! But not about the rape part, my eyes and body were still pure.

Did anyone else have little children in the theater while that movie was going? I did, didn't feel right. Too much freaky crap going on to expose young children to... but we are in a new age.
