The best First person shooter i played in the 90's was....

I tried a few FPS in the 1990s, and it has a lot to do with why I haven't played any of the recent ones. The gameplay style flat-out doesn't appeal to me.

Agreed, Goldeneye was the game of the 90's, but I hated the Surface (snow area) levels. =(

It's a toss up for me between Duke 3D/64 (64 was better but lacked the range of the PC) and Rise of the Triad (Gotta love the eye balls flyin' ach'ya and the dual pistol code 'John Woo' <-- that was my konami code).

Perfect Dark. This is a game which I still have yet to beat, and still have fun at. The idea of the game isn't just to shoot your way out, but to think how. This lead to a lot of screw ups as well as fun. This is one of the few games I will still play on the N64 because the game had a charm that I have yet to see from a shooter after it. The fact I still get surprised on the first twist in the game if I haven't played it in a good while even though I know it is just one of the little gems in the game that keeps me smiling whenever I play it.

Perfect Dark was released in 2000.
