There's definitely something wrong with you if you spend $5 on a free game.Ahlycks said:FUUUUUUUUUU that game was a waste a good five dollersmigo said:flOw is the only one that comes to mind for me.

Because giving money to an independent developer is evil? Thatgamecompany is getting pretty big lately, I don't know if it is solely related to their success on PSN but I gladly paid money for Flower.Ahlycks said:There's definitely something wrong with the PSN store if they charge $5 for a free game.migo said:There's definitely something wrong with you if you spend $5 on a free game.Ahlycks said:FUUUUUUUUUU that game was a waste a good five dollersmigo said:flOw is the only one that comes to mind for me.

He means Toribash. A game with a brutal learning curve, but crazy depth. I actually bought earlier versions of the game to support them before it went freeware.DeadlyYellow said:I tried looking up Toribad and the result just lead me back here.

It's got quite a fun singleplayer campaign. For myself, what I always enjoyed was trying to keep ALL my units alive... for the ENTIRE campaign. This way they become stronger, and you get a sense of continuity through the campaign.
Anyway the source code was released or something so some guys went and remade the entire thing as a free standalone install. I *THINK* this is the right URL.

I tried downloading it and all it does is give me a screen on three trucks and a searchlight(?). A bit disappointing since it piqued my interest, but I'll keep trying. (Plus with my lack of expendable cash, free is good. Part of the reason I'm trying to get into PC gaming now along with my consoles.)

I've spent more time playing that game than most any full retail product released in the past 5 years. Hell, I've played it more than many of the games I've bought in those five years combined. It's brilliant, and once you get past the visual barrier, one of the most rewarding, clever, diverse, and strategic games ever made. There is simply no other game in existence which lets you do some of the things this game does, or to craft a world as involved or deep as is possible in this game. None.
Indeed - I still play a round or two every day, its difficult enough to keep my attention unlike most other fighters.Hiphophippo said:He means Toribash. I'd like to lie to you and say I'm good at it, but I pretty well just flail around. I know a handful of cool moves but I can't really adapt to the fight and pull them off on the fly. It's basically all or nothing. Still fun though and that's how you know a game is good: It's fun, even when the best you can manage is a drunken stumble into your opponent.Estocavio said:Same here - Its exceptional. The Madman said:DWARF FORTRESS by Bay12

Well, when all else fails, doing some extremely cheap tap with your foot then backflipping away always works - Even against mastersHiphophippo said:I'd like to lie to you and say I'm good at it, but I pretty well just flail around.
