The only game I've ever played that had little if any real violence, and I define violence as the player shooting something that bleeds, was Portal. The only time you see blood in that game is when you get shot by those annoying-ass turrets.

Obvious "EVERYTHING IS VIOLENT" trolls are Obvious, because trying to claim Tetris is violent is just asinine.

In all honesty I would say the Katamari Titles are the best non-violent time I've had while gaming, the closest it comes to "violence" would fall more under the "comic mischief" label. The Harvest Moon games are also quite peaceful and have little to no violence in them.

There were a few games I was going to list, but now I realize that they all have violence of some kind in them... so I'ma have to say Tetris. Or some of those ones on Kongregate.

Ninja'd on guitar hero... I've been enjoying Tony Hawk Ride since I got it for Christmas - does skateboarding count as a sport?
Does Scribblenauts count? You can entirely avoid violence through liberal use of black holes!

EDIT: I refuse to count portal as violent due to the overall lack of violence carried out by the player (except at the end)

I've been trying to think of some nonviolent games that were truly great. Most are puzzle-based like World of Goo, but overall I'm coming up empty.
World of Goo nonviolent? Do you have any idea how many innocent gooballs you have to murder to get through each level?

Anway, nonviolent games... ehh... I'll get back to you.

Any given good racing game?

Oh and the hopefully upcoming Metalocalypse game, because there is NO way that there could possibly be violence in such an adaption of the tame quaint show.

uh, Katamari Damacy! Although if you want to say that rolling people into a giant ball while they scream in terror until they're crushed underneath a car you just rolled up.

Um to everyone saying Guitar Hero, have you forgotten that Death's Star Power animation involves devouring an audience members soul? Pretty violent if you as me...and doesn't one of the characters light their guitar on fire?

Portal.

Poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooortal.

EDIT: EVERY LITTLE O IS A PORTAL. No seriously. Portal is great and has no violence. At least, you don't shoot people.

Perhaps. But you're saying about a game in which the sole purpose is killing as being a game without violence. :p
I ohnly skimmed se sread and somehow translated "violence-free" to "kid suitable". I mean, flow may be about killing, but it's an abstract and elegant killing accompanied by a nice sound, not exactly a gorefest.
