Someone will know what I mean The Resident Evil one on GameTrailers. Clearly not great at selling the game because I don't remember what it was called Something on the Wii Anyway it was a cool 3D breakout thing

That resident evil one for the wii with the flash interactivity. Although the fact that I can't remember the actual name means that either 1) the trailer wasn't that good, or 2) there are too many resident evil games to keep track of. I'm picking option 2.
Also, the 'The Old Republic' one with the massive lightsaber battle? You know, the one that in 2 minutes was better than all 6 hours of the prequel trilogy? (By better, in this case, I mean more exciting. There were points during episodes 1 and 2 where I started to wonder if testing the resistance of my hand to fire might not be better. Mostly the points where Jar-Jar was on screen.)

Yeah that was a pretty epic trailer.

Definately noticing a theme here People remember the trailer but not the game

Wow no one has mention the original fallout 3 teaser trailer, and tomb raider underworld had a great cinematic trailer, more recently splinter cell conviction launch trailer

VERY TRUE! i absolutly loved this trailer, i would run to the TV when it was on ;')

but the ones from Dragon Ages... sacred ashes.. cant argue that one is good too

The GTA IV <a href=http://www.gametrailers.com/video/move-up-grand-theft/28634>Move Up, Ladies trailer was pure awesome. Very well done, it tells the basic story very well, shows some awesome scenes, the music is very well chosen, Niko looks like a total badass and the trailer generally gives off the right feeling of the struggle from nothing against insurmontable odds.

I was already looking forward to the game, then the trailer came out and I needed new pants.

That is a great trailer. Bioware make some of the best trailers around.
One of my favourites is Dragon Age Origins.

Most of the Mass Effect 2 trailers were excellent, although the launch trailer really sums up all the reasons it's great. I remember watching it at 7:30 in the morning, eating toast for breakfast, and I couldn't take a bite that whole trailer, and at the end just dropped all the stuff that was in the morning to go and gush about it online.

Meh. I thought the GOW 3 trailer was so-so and the Halo 3 trailer just made my blood boil.

Now L4D2's trailer, THAT was an example of a trailer done right and is really the only game trailer I've ever liked. Everything else is kinda so-so.

Cant say i have a favorite. Seems setting casual, mainstream songs to trailers makes them really good. There's always one better thats coming out. Recent ones i would say SC Conviction launch trailer. Johnny Cash rules.
