Being James Bond. Fast cars, one-liners, and the ability to sleep with anyone you fancy. Also, saving the world and never being hurt seriously.

Professional Hitman, you can choose whenever the hell you want to work, and no one says differently... because you kill them and make 5 million dollars doing so.

STDs, mate, but I fully concur. :p

Otherwise - I really can't think of one - working in games sounds awesome, or something which requires you to travel. Like that Getaway show.

Hello fellow Escapists. What do you think is the best job ever and why?

personally, I think that being a captain in the Navy would be pretty cool, it has good pay and you get to travel the world.

EDIT: the job that guy has on Man vs Food is pretty cool, if anyone watches the show...
Hell no. Know the episode where he had to eat the hottest wings on the planet without drinking ANY milk while eating them?

Jesus, I once ate a really really small piece of habanero and had to keep my tongue on a glass of milk for half 20 minutes. And if I remember right the chilis hes wings had were like 5 times hotter than that.

Besides he has those eating challenges where he has to eat huge servings of food. I'd rather be a food critic or something.

I want to be an author, for this reason. It's basically being paid to create and imagine worlds and people, and weave tales with nothing but your mind. Hell yeah I want to dedicate my life to that. It wouldn't hurt if I happened to write a bestseller or two either ;)

However, I'm not so over-confident that I'm banking all my hopes and dreams on writing books to support myself financially. Although it would be good if I did.
For a 'proper' job I want to be a games journalist. If you can't figure out why, I don't know why you're here. No offense :D

Performing, of the musical variety. I play, but would LOVE to make a career out of being in an awesome band. If only I was confident enough...*sigh*

I cant believe no one said comic book writer
Maybe because it's a monotonous and potentially extremely stressful job.
It's not easy to be creative on demand.
Some manga artists quite literally work themselves to death.

If you work for New Belgium Brewery in Colorado (makers of Fat Tire, 1554, Mothership, and others), you get some awesome fringe benefits. These include a free case of beer a week, lots of free outdoors memberships and equipment and even every so often can get a free trip to Belgium.

And I'm gonna go ahead and back this up and win all of your moneys [http://cbs4denver.com/local/New.Belgium.Brewing.2.702603.html]

Actor. You get paid handsomely for doing next to nothing out of the ordinary. I would enjoy that very much
Next to nothing? You obviously don't know to much about acting. Have you ever heard of method acting? A short explanation if you haven't is that literally try to become the character they play by drawing on their own emotions and experiences. This is not the only thing involved, but its whats important in relation to my point. Being put in such dramatic situation with your personal emotions exposed has been known to cause emotional scaring and brake downs. There have even been a few recorded cases of people going insane. I remember stories that people could not ever be around Heath Ledger during the filming of The Dark Knight because he would be the embodying the Joker all the time. He would get into the mindset of the Joker and he couldn't get out.

On a personal note, I've just finished my own final dramatic arts exams, and while I was told I was a very promising actor, I have absolutely no intention of pursuing it professionally because it is far to hard. I have not come close to correctly pulling a method acting style, and still I found it staining to switch between Oscar Wilde's Algernon and two rather different homicidal characters in one day.

And that is just one aspect of what makes acting difficult.

Anyways, I'd love to be a musician. Also bloody hard, but I'm good at it, and I love it.
