after playing the Guitar Hero games to hell and back again, I have come to appreciate the intricacies of the guitar.

I'm sorry, what did you just say? Those games show nothing of the guitar.

I think they do - it's not like I learned to play guitar from playing them or anything. But I do believe that they have made me listen better, and I can more easily discern skilled playing when I hear it than I could before.
