I just found and bought the Halo 3 soundtrack and I started to think of how mutch good music there realy is in games regardless of game play or story, the proof of this is Legegdary, HALO, Spyro and Fable. I want to know, what the best games are for music and your favorite music from them?
While I'm here does anyone know where I can get the music from Jak 3 cause I'v never found it?
every game that scores higher then a 8

Halo series. Panzer Dragoon Orta. And the theme from Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders 2.

Also some of the exploration music from Fallout 3 is very nice. Jade Empire is full of nice music too.

Final Fantasy I and II for Famicom, Chrono Trigger, Faxanadu, Ninja Ryukenden series for NES, Romancing Saga 3, MegaMan X. But to me the two games with the best soundtrack would be Akumajo Densetsu (the Japanese version of Castlevania 3) and Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. But the best of the best is the 2 Castlevania: Battle Perfect albums that were arranged by Anthem bassist Naoto Shibata.

Donkey Kong Country - Gangplank Galleon

Most epic final boss theme EVER.
Concurred.

Also, the PS2 DBZ Budokai games had some great shredding by Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, which was great to listen to while slugging it out.

Mother 3 has some great music in it. Hell, the entire Mother series has some amazing tracks.

I think of best music as music I would remember, epics like Shadow of the Colossus. I remember Okami's muscic well enough too to include it. Also, funny enough, Persona 4 with upbeat music which was a welcome change to its darker (imo more emo) predecessor.

COD WAW has a pretty good soundtrack but nothing beats Fire Shark for the old Mega Drive 8-bit in all its glory.

Total Annihilation I've decided. Anyone who disagrees is wrong. Its perfect. It actually reacts to whats going on in game. If you launch an air attack, it will play an air battle-ish sounding track, same for sea and land. When you are building, it slows down, but still keeps you interested. Waiting for that release. I'm starting to wish I could put in everything. I think it would go amazing in Sins of a Solar Empire.. Hmmmmm
