The best RTS of all time

My personal favorite is the Total War series.

Starcraft 2(Beta), Rome: Total War, Age of Empires 2(+Conquerors), Red Alert 2, Warcraft 3. Pick any of these and I'll pretty much agree with you. They're all fantastic.

Even though I absolutly fail at most RTS games, my favourite would have to be Company of Hereos. The resources are easy to manage and you don't have to take care of those F&^&*#@^() mining vehicles all the the time. Enough of my opion, what do you think?

I agree with you sir. and the amount of realism in that game is very high.

Better than Company of Heroes, try Faces of War or Men of War... they kick ass. it's a mix between a war RTS with Commandos style where every single soldier has an inventory, and can change the outcome of the battle. You can even control directly your own units, aim at the cannon or wheels etc... there's so many strategies to do in it.
