For me that would be either
But that would be a very obvious choice so I'll go with my other choice.
To me this is one of the best bands Holland has ever had.

So, what is in your opinion the best song that your nation has to offer?

Either REM's Losing My Religion or Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit.

REM is the founding band of alternative rock, and Losing My Religion is probably their best song.

This is why I love this kind of threads you can entertain yourself for so long with a nice new playlist and someone might bring something up you don't know yet. Keep 'em coming.

Lot's of genres to go through.

If you just want to go with the high brow stuff, there's Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings

When the Saints go Marching In is great as both a spiritual and a jazz piece.

For pop, Fly Me to the Moon. I like Tony Bennett's version the best.

Out of the more contemporary stuff, I'd say Ben Harper is America's strongest artist currently active. That's just personal taste, but he's a good argument for the state of music today not being dead.

I live in Britian. There are quite a few.

But for me, I'mma choose Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven.

There are plenty of songs to rock out too, but if you just want to relax as much as humanly possible, this is the song for you.

Probably Yakety Sax. It makes everything hysterical and has helped give birth to some pretty damn funny comedy sketches.

Old, but highly iconic, I think it's really one of the best songs made in my country. Hard rock ftw! Anyone who likes Iron Butterfly should dig this :D

I'm from New Zealand so there are some pretty good ones.
Anything from Split Enz is great, Back in the 90's we had a great rock/rap group called SuperGroove.

That one really takes me back to my school days.

And also in the 90's this song which has to be right up there with my favorite songs of all time, whenever I hear it I get home sick (I currently live over seas).

Lot of stuff from Oz, but being a rampant AC/DC fanboy (as I bring up in almost every single music related thread) I'm gonna go with Highway to Hell. Because it's awesome.

Ummm....Canada. Let's see, who has Canada produced on the music scene recently...nope. No I'm drawing a blank.

How about some Rush though? Rush thoroughly kicked some ass.
