Best song: 'Bluebeard' by Cocteau Twins

Best TV Show: El Chiringuito de Pepe

Best Book: I've read too many to narrow it down to one, but stand-outs are 'Yo, el Supremo' by Augusto Roa Bastos, 'Cider with Rosie' by Laurie Lee, 'Meu Pé de Laranja Lima' by José Mauro de Vasconcelos, and both of Hilary Mantel's novels about Thomas Cromwell, servant of Henry VIII ('Wolf Hall' and 'Bring up the Bodies')

Favourite "Best" Film: The Grand Budapest Hotel (so many good films this year argh!)
Favourite "Best" Vidya Garme: Bayonetta 2, though I'd say Bayonetta 2 was tied with a non-2014 game Saints Row IV (which really was awesome) and playing Silent Hill: Shattered Memories as my first Wii on Wii U game (shut up it counts).
Favourite "Best" Song: Lily Allen - "Our Time"
Favourite "Best" Album: I think I listened to Lorde - "Pure Heroine" first in 2014, if not then Capital Cities - "In A Tidal Wave of Mystery"
Favourite "Best" TV business: House M.D., though it might fall apart in Season 8 for all I know.

BEST MOVIE WATCHED: Dredd
- Very impressed by this movie and actually found myself rewatching about 4 times since it appeared on Netflix

BEST BOOK READ: The Stand - Stephen King
- I don't read. Of the few audio books I listened to this was the best.

BEST GAME PLAYED: Marvel Puzzle Quest
- It's been my main game of 2014. Easily over 1000 hours actively played in 2014.

BEST SONG HEARD: The Binding of Isaac Soundtrack
- Most of it sounds the same so you can pick just about any track and I'll approve

BEST TV SHOW WATCHED: Breaking Bad
- I think that finished 2014...if it was 2013 then my answer is Miss Marple. I watched a few of those older detective shows this year to see if anything could rival Columbo. None of them could...but between Murder She Wrote, Poirot and Miss Marple I enjoyed Miss Marple the most.

BEST WEB SHOW (since this is what I watched 90% of the year): Wrestle! Wrestle! - The Spoony Experiment
- I haven't watched wrestling in over a decade but I used to be big into it almost 2 decades. Spoony recapping WWE is both hilarious and entertaining despite not recognizing about 75% of the performers being referenced.

BEST PODCAST: Escapist Science & Tech
- This one wins by a LANDSLIDE. This has quickly become my favorite content on the Escapist and on the internet. These guys/gal are funny, informative and interesting. Kudos and please, please, please, keep it up!

Best movie: Tsukimonogatari, last minute end of the year showstopper.

Best comic: Got into comics this year so instead of picking one imma pick a few to share. Pretty apparent from the list which publisher i like.

Revival
Saga
Sex Criminials
Pretty Deadly
Wytches

Best Anime: Me!x3 easily wins as the best anime of the year, Tied for second are F/Sn and Gensis. Parastye was good but nothing revolutionary.

Best song: Memory by Polyphia

best tv show: Game of Thrones, watched all of them this year.

Best Game Played: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2.

Best Anime Watched: One Piece.

Best Comic Read: The Darkness Compendium Vol.1

Best Movie Watched: Guardians of the Galaxy

Best Album Heard: Crown the Empire, The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways

Best Song Heard: Drown, by Bring Me the Horizon

I regretfully do not have a novel to place in this list, I've been rather bad at reading this past year. Too many video games and anime to watch I guess.

BEST GAME PLAYED: The Walking Dead Season 2. It is also my game of the year.[footnote]Yes, Episode 1 came out in 2013, but the real meat of the season came out during 2014, and that is what mattered the most to me anyway. Besides, i'm my own man and I do what I want.[/footnote]

BEST "DAMN THAT WASN'T NEARLY AS BAD AS I ANTICIPATED" GAME: Destiny (Bearing in mind that I went in with really low expectations and ended up playing it all night.)

<spoiler=BEST GAME MOMENT: The Walking Dead Season 2>

BEST GAMING MOMENT: Killing Kenny and saving Jane.

OH MY GOD YOU KILLED KENNY!

Yes, I did. It was heartbreaking. It is probably going to stick with me for a while. Compared to Lee's death in Season 1, this hit me a lot harder. Whilst I couldn't do anything to save Lee, I had to actively choose to kill who effectively became my Walking Dead bestie. I don't regret my choice, but I do wish that I didn't have to kill him to save Jane.

BEST MOVIE WATCHED: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

BEST ANIME WATCHED: The Legend of Korra [footnote]"But that's not an anime, that's a cartoon!" Look, for the sake of simplicity, I count it as an anime. I care not.[/footnote]

BEST TV SHOW WATCHED: The Legend of Korra, again.

<spoiler=BEST TV SHOW MOMENT: Death Note>BEST TV SHOW MOMENT: L's Death.

I thought that it was going to be L vs Light until the end, but NOPE. They threw a curve ball, and they ended up killing the show's primary antagonist halfway through the show. I was not expecting that to happen, and that is what caught me off guard. I don't think that his replacement was as compelling of an antagonist, but this moment stuck with me anyway.

BEST SONG HEARD/ BEST ALBUM: Pretty much anything from the <a href=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zA1jRmAYfU>Transistor OST

Games: I played quite a few, but the best ones were the ones I enjoyed the most were not released in 2014. Metal Gear Rising, XCOM: Enemy Within, Mount & Blade, Prince of Persia Sands of Time (got it on GOG sale, but I'd played it back on the PS2), Fallout: New Vegas, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD and probably more. I can't pick one though, it's too difficult.

Song: Hymn of the Immortal Warrior, Manowar. As big a Manowar fan as I am, I couldn't believe I missed this one when I originally discovered them. It really can't be described, just go listen to it if you're into power metal.

Film: Guardians of the Galaxy was a goddamn blast. Also the '93 Tombstone, which was badass.

Book: The First Law Trilogy, Joe Abercrombie. Take the dark world of The Song of Ice and Fire, combine it with a cast of characters that can have you laughing your ass off and grinning like a mad bastard because of how badass they are in the same scene, and tie it all together with a solid plot and a writing style that transcends the medium. That's the First Law. It's bloody brilliant. And bloody. Very bloody.

TV: I was hooked on Breaking Bad from the very start, and it didn't disappoint. Such an amazing show, and well worth the many hours i spent binge watching it.

Graphic Novel: Transmetropolitan. Gritty, satirical, hilarious, awesome. Read it.
