Doctor Who deserves mention, 'course. Other series, naturally. On the anime side, Jack says Heroic Age. Also, Kamen Rider Double.

Doctor Who, Definitely Doctor Who. Hell, it's pretty much the only reason i keep that damned Tv of mine around aside from the odd bit of channel hopping.

So many good shows have come up in the past few decade:

Firefly (May you rest in peace)
Breaking Bad
Dexter (Season 4 was the best)
Scrubs
Game of Thrones
Smallville
True Blood (Dont judge me some of it is good)

I am probably forgetting a lot of them but these are just a few out the top of my head.

I'm surprised i have to say it... Firefly
Haha, when I clicked this topic I thought to myself "Wonder how many posts it'll take until someone says Firefly". Surprisingly many it seems.

And yeah, I do agree: Firefly.

Hmm... This needs to be split into genres.

Therefore,

Travel/Food: Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations
Comedy: Community
Science: Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman
Drama: Game of Thrones
Sci-Fi: Firefly
Anime: Eden of the East

Community! The Modern Warfare episode was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen.
I agree with this. I find their humours and style to be refreshing compared to others and I adore the characters in it!

Cocksuckers! No mention of Deadwood? Hoople headed cocksucking sons of whores! No half priced pussy for you. Al Swearengen, now there is a cocksucker you can bank on.

Deadwood, ranks just below The Wire for me, if they had finished the thing it would rate higher.

Anyway I guess it would be:

The Wire

Deadwood

The West Wing

and then daylight to fourth place.

Hmm... I'd say mythbusters. I've never loved a TV show more than that.
Also, Life on Mars (UK version). When it comes to animated shows, I'd say Ed, Edd n' Eddy, as well as Courage the Cowardly dog.
I guess MLP:FiM doesn't count?

People have stated a lot of great shows like Scrubs, House, and many, many others. But I didn't see anyone mention Avatar: The Last Airbender. Have you all forgotten that great show?

Lost - The closest thing to a comicbook on TV I have seen. For those who complain about not having answers you weren't paying attention. i would say about 85% of the questions were answered.
The Shield - Best cop show ever. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

It's quite simple really:

Wrong decade, mate. Pinky and the Brain aired from 1995 to 1998.

I'm really not sure, but it's between Top Gear, the new Doctor Who, Futurama (which first aired in 1999, but most of the episodes were shown in the 2000s, so I'd say it counts) and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Heroes, a really good modern take on the superhero genre seen throught the lense of pretty much unwitting heroes. Shame it lasted only one season, there was so much potential to explore there. I also really adored the BSG remake even if they did whisper too much.

Arrested Development, no contest.

Personally, I find TV and drama/mystery to not work well together. I always feel like I'm being strung along, where as a lot of movies can tell better stories in just 2 hours.

Futurama, Dexter, True Blood, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development and Black Books

I'd also like to add the Walking Dead, but I feel it doesn't quite earn a place based on the first season alone
