um...we have a marsh.....honest to god i carn't think of anything "special" about my home town. We havn't even got good connections to Liverpool or Chester.

But, personally for me, the best thing about my home town is that my friends live there.

I literally live half an hour away from Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not that I've ever seen him, but I've been outside the capital of California countless times.

Also, the softball team of my high school got like 3rd place in the entire world a couple years ago. I seriously can't think of anything else that's particularly impressive about Sacramento.

Worst thing? The council spends its budget on THE WORST THINGS IMAGINABLE. Like big-ass shiny buildings that have nothing inside.
Or pavements on country roads literally 5 people use regularly.
I think it's the job of councils to be as useless as humanly possible. Mine once decided to lower the pay of the men who empty the city's bins to the level of the women who empty our city's bins, rather than raise the pay of the women. Cue a month or so of bin bags all over the place (since this city is full of cheapskates who can't be arsed moving their bags to the local tip, instead leaving them in other people's streets). And nobody wonders why I think this town is a shithole.

If I could I would punch each and every member of Leeds Shitty Council right in the face, regardless of their political leaning, for being so shit.
I swear that my suburb and the others around it have formed a league of stupidity. Their first target seems to be our money. My town bought a Firetruck with a ladder that can reach seven story buildings. The tallest building in our town is 3 stories tall. Their justification, other towns may need to use it. A neighboring town meanwhile bought a boat, even though they lack a large body of water.

On topic: There's little crime (compared to the surrounding areas), and lots of trees.

Good Education, low crime (though it exists) and Night Club/Bar scene here is getting better all the time.

Hmm, it's a quiet place, almost zero crime, big enough to have everything you need within 15 minutes driving distance and small enough to be able to be absolutely alone within 5 minutes.

We also have a very nice "bicycle path" (is that the right term?) built on an artificial strip of land (+/-20 feets wide) running the middle of the river, going on for 40 km's or so...

I live in the Manly/ Warringah area of Sydney. Basically I've got a full view of the city (Sydney, you wouldn't believe what NYE is like for me) and I'm only a short drive from some of Australia's most famous beaches.

...Gimmie a minute, I'm trying to think of something...

...You can hop on a plane and go on a one-way trip to Yellowknife? I dunno, this place fucking sucks, full of drunken old people, drunken young people, and drunken middle-aged people, none of which have any incentive to sober up and maybe go to work for more than a few hours every couple of weeks.

It doesn't help that they're all natives either, as it only purpetuates the stereotype of useless drunken indians that do nothing but drink and pass out in the ditch.

God I hate this place...

Best thing about where I live has to be the bloody trains going out, I've never in my life heard anyone ever say anything good about the place, local or otherwise.

Oh wait, Jimmy Carr made a funny joke about it once, that's probably the richest point in it's cultural history.

There's very little to enjoy here.

We have a nice theatre here, which I've spent many a good time acting in/helping out at.
Also, the start of a good railway, the Severn Valley. That's about it.

Oddly, the things most people know our town for (the railroad and canals) are the things that take you out of it. It's how I describe it to people :p

It has 3 junctions to the M1 motorway so it takes only a few minutes to get the fuck away from here.

And it was used in a recent Zero Punctuation episode. Can't remember which one but it popped up as the name on a sign.
