Ooooh yeah...Nickson said:The MG42 was excellent in Brothers in Arms. As it was a machine gun, and NPC's in that game can take about as much as a normal person can(one bullet), it was awesome. I also liked the realistic muzzle flashes and the aesthetically pleasing noise it made. (a good gun always needs a good noise)
Actually if you park a Heavy next to it you get a self healing turret with unlimited ammo and it's unsappable.Omnidum said:The best turret is the Dispenser!!
But seriously, the best turret was in either Jak 2 or Hellgate: London.
Unsappable, maybe... Maybe... I've yet to meet one that can outsmart a butterfly knife.protogenxl said:Actually if you park a Heavy next to it you get a self healing turret with unlimited ammo and it's unsappable.Omnidum said:The best turret is the Dispenser!!

I preferred them in the original Tribes. It was satisfying to work out precisely *where* you could place turrets in a room so that they gave maximum output and minimal "You can't place that here" due to being too close to other turrets. And then annoying the hell out of your enemy with a few dozen beacons and sensors that they noticed before the turrets started wailing on them.warrain said:I like the turrets from Tribes: Aerial Assult were very very useful. You can't man them like other games, but you can place small ones in random spots to surprise your opponents.
They're the best ones! Go on youtube and search 'Day in the life of a Portal turret. Best thing I've ever seen on the net.Jacman413 said:Portal turrets are the best. They sound so scared and on edge. "Hello?" "Are you still there?"
And I love it when you knock them over. "Wahaghaharg!" Good times.
