What is the best weapon ever created?
I can be in gaming or real life.
I'm going ot have to go with that chicken-morph gun from Rachet and Clank.
Good times, good times...
Anyway, what do you think?

the automatic shotgun

seriously, this was the thought process during it's creation

"I want to make my shotgun even MORE inaccurate and harder to control, and also make it waste a lot of ammo really quick"

genius

now seriously, I'd say the Painkiller or the BFG 1000, you know, like a BFG 9000, but without warm up and rapid fire

Toss up between:

The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, or ASHPD for short. Gesundheit.
Because before it you could not think with portals.

And the Zero Point Modulator, or Gravity Gun.
Because it lets you play fetch with a giant droid Dog, and because of what happens in weapons disintegration fields.

I played number 2 first, so I'm going to roll with the sheepinator. And I didn't much like number 1. And one of the only good things about A Crack In Time: its R.Y.N.O. Blow your enemy away while pleasant music plays.

Actually, if you're talking about real life automatic shotguns the AA-12 is considerably MORE accurate than many of its pump-action counterparts, thanks to a very clever spring system in the stock.

Seriously watch the FPSRussia video on YouTube, at one point he empties an entire clip one-handed with almost no kickback at all.

My vote? Although it may not be the most powerful, I'd have to say the best imo is the hidden blade (plus all the attachments) from Assassin's Creed. It has so many functions, it's virtually undetectable, it's the perfect stealth device, and it is too. awesome. for. words.

This is the human brain, it is more advanced than any computer currently built today and any computer built previously. It can understand abstract thought processes and can use a variety of communications methods. It is also highly adaptable to any situation and can make changes to its behaviour at a moment's notice.

If everybody used this more often, humanity will need no other weapon.

Depends on your opinion of best, Do you mean most powerful? if so then the an antimatter bomb would take first by a long shot. Do you mean most effective, then probably the bio-weapon from Andromeda Strain, or Solanum.

I'll do a list:

Medieval: Katana, Crossbow or Bastard Sword
WW1: Gotta be the Maschinegewehr 08
WW2: Either the MG42 or the Bren Gun
Modern day: AK47
Sci-fi: Probably the predator cannon thing.

Hands down, any rapid-fire rocket launcher that plays the 1812 Overture while obliterating everything.

actually I meant the video game one, which usually gets way lesser accuracy for balance

I feel bad for saying technicalities, but I don't think they count as weapons, however awesome they are. Yes you CAN use them as weapons, but that's like stabbing someone with a screwdriver, as in it is not intended to be used as such. Although I DO agree with the Gravity Gun, as when it IS used as a weapon, it's pretty dang sweet.

IRL, best weapon goes to the AK-47. The gun that has participated in more conflicts and empowered more people than anything else, can be buried in sand for 10 years and shot with no problem, and is over 60 years old with minimal design changes is pretty self-explanatory.
