actually, the gun was horribly inaccurate, and it required 4 sets of railroad tracks that were literally right next to each other just in order to set the gun up. two for the gun itself, and 2 more for the construction cranes to assemble it. it was only used (with limited effectiveness) in poland, and later became the model for another series of entirely useless STATIONARY guns to be placed along the Normandy coast.Yoshi_egg80 said:

I shall second this position. A board is just an errant piece of building material, and a nail is simply a fastener. Yet combined you have in essence you have in this simple union the origins of all weapons.scumofsociety said:

For the knife, I believe one should look no further than the Bowie knife, which still provides the basis for many modern combat knives.
For the pistol, I would have to initially side with the Venerable M1911A, but I'd probably end up favoring a modern interpretation of the .45 ACP sucs as the Springfield XD Service or USP. The Desert Eagle is unwieldy, prone to stoppages (not due to any fault in the weapon - it's just you have to move a LOT of brass out of the way), uses an expensive and uncommon ammunition and doesn't offer any real advantage over the .45 ACP in terms of effective man stopping power for the trouble. Both are more than lethal enough to disuade someone who's been shot with one, and both are foiled by level II body armor.
In so far as a person in terms of a living weapon, I think one would have to look to any of the great generals or famed marial artists. There are far too many to choose from, but Chuck Norris is not found anywhere on my list of such entities since, for all is efforts, he seems to rarely achieve lethal effect on any of his victims.
