You may say the Super Mario Bros. show was embarrassingly cheesy, but MovieBob says otherwise.

Wow. It never occurred to me to think of Moonlighting as a forbearer to Inuyasha.

Ah Nostalgia Lane how I missed thee...not. Yeah I watched both cartoons from the show when I was young. Along with She-ra, He-man, G.I. Joe, SilverHawks, Thundercats, and yes Captain N the Gamemaster (only watched cause I thought the princess was pretty). Then I discovered Swat Kats and the DC animated universe and seemed to blot out those early years.

Too young to really have watched the show, however my parents did get a couple cheap VHS's of the show that I used to watch as a kid. All I really remember is the end song, and the fact that mother absolutely HATED that I'd watch it.

There was also a more "PURE" Super Mario TV show based around the events of Mario Bros. 3 that bolstered better storytelling and animation and (almost) holds up to the test of time. I think it was also done by DIC. Definitely worth checking out if you're a retro cartoon fan. On that note, Bob you were totally right about EXO Squad, that show kicks some major ass.

Let's do the Mario, all together now!

Ah, geek culture... gotta love it. Gotta be hopelessly confused by it. Also, sometimes gotta hate it.

Why do they always give the male lead in a cartoon aimed at kids an annoying thing to say at any given time and place!? 0_0 Oh yeah, marketing. Crap.

I'd never even heard of this other Mario show. Looking forward to that episode. :)
It's not a show, but a movie. It's an anime movie detailing the Japanese storyline behind the first Super Mario Bros. video game.

That was when they combined the Mario brothers show with Captain N and it was done for Mario 3 and Super Mario World.

I watched a couple of episodes on netflix and if this show was on when I was at the right age I could see myself being a huge fan. But unfortunately this was about 2-3 years before my time.

I got Season 1 as a gift a few years back but I'm never going to watch it. Last thing I want to do is ruin my very fond memories of this show by re-watching what I know I will definitely hate. With movies I have little choice but I don't want to ruin my childhood television memories.

I suppose I should be greatful your not trying to defend THAT Sonic Cartoon...you know the one I mean...

Luckily such memories where replaced quickly by the mid-late ninties cartoons.

Ohhhh Talespin!
I actually highly enjoyed the Chilli Dog Series yet despised the one that was darker and had a ton of furries.

I enjoyed the simple relationship between Sonic/Tails & Robotnic/2 Robots.

I see you've taken not that the "WEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRDDDDDD!" thing has gotten annoying and kept it simple this time around. Great, thanks a lot!

I'm actually surprised you actually know about the Power Team, but then again, given who you are, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. And yeah, Captain N HAS aged horribly.

YES! For the love of God, I hate Oogtar to DEATH!

Honestly, I only discovered and watched the show recently, and I don't love it for nostalgia, but because of how weird, inconsistent, and cheesy it can be.

Incidentally, in the picture Bob used to say "and is only referred to as Princess Toadstool", that's from The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3. And that's SUPPOSED to be Luigi in the background. Yeah, the animation was TERRIBLE in those shows.

Also, The Legend of Zelda cartoon... was pretty lame. The episode that sticks out in my mind is the one where the biggest dilemma is the King's pool park is in construction and there are some problems getting it finished... Ugh.

And then there's Link. "WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!" Double ugh. But then again, I think it's because of that show that I'm using that catchphrase a lot more often.

RIP Captain Lou Albaino.

I only got to see them by going to the local Blockbuster and seeing what tapes of the show where there. I did like quite a few of the live action bit, and never did see most of the Zelda cartoons. It was a nice little part of my childhood...

RIP: Captain Lou Albano

Also, I saw a few parts of the other Mario cartoon once on Youtube. I think it was a movie. Looking forward to that episode.

I actually had a couple of VHS tapes with about a dozen or so episodes between all of them (lacking the live-action bits though), and I will say they were enjoyable, I mean sure they had to 80s written all over them, but they were enjoyable nonetheless. Also the Zelda cartoon looks like a mixed bag IMO
