Damn you and your cliffhangers! Someone is going to have to have a talk with The Escapist about MovieBob doing a full length documentary of some sort. I'm tired of having to wait a whole week to get the answers.
Oh, there are lots of other awesome and either self-contained or limited run series that are totally accessible. Don't let the few with the decades upon decades of drama scare you away!Daaaah Whoosh said:Watching all these videos about comics make me realize two things: One, that comics are awesome. And two, that I will never read any of them. I mean seriously, if all this stuff is so inter-connected, it would take years to sort it all out. I read Watchmen and V for Vendetta because I was told they were awesome and because they were self-contained, but I don't see how I could delve any deeper into the medium without drowning in it.
The Escapist really knows their target audience and knows that they only have a average attention span of 5 minutes. Har-har.Kuomon said:Who imposes the 5 minute limit? Is it the escapist or did Bob simply decide that was the only runtime that would work?
MTV still has full episodes for viewing: http://www.mtv.com/videos/the-maxx-episode-1/1611381/playlist.jhtmlFlatfrog said:There was a cartoon series that covered the first part of the story (on MTV I think) which was absolutely brilliant and well worth tracking down too.DragonAccess said:Thank you I will check it out!Pseudonym2 said:The Maxx by Sam Keith. It's about a homeless schizophrenic superhero combined with Australian aboringeese folklore. I've only read a little of it but I liked what I read. Sam Keith is a good artist, so it's worth reading almost anything he draws.DragonAccess said:Anyone know what the comic was that he used an image of to illustrate "a few good books"? It looked kind of cool.
I'd be fine if it had a good ending... but it doesn't, just an end... *weeps*GamerMage said:I concur! You suck! *Throws tomato as well* Also,I miss Samurai Jack,Don't you?PunkRex said:*Throws tomato* Booooooo, GET OFF!!!DVS BSTrD said:Just like any good comic book episode, it leaves you wanting Moore.
Okay, I'm confused. I'm not comic, nor was I ever comic. This episode really didn't do or say anything. You say you introduced us to a problem, but you didn't. Okay, so next week we find out what the problem is. But you didn't explain in this video why this is a problem or why anyone would care. I need more context Bob, and you didn't deliver. Can someone for the love of Drool tell me what on earth Bob is talking about in this video. There's something about Gaimin, some busty chick'n chainmail, some people, and some company that doesn't exist, and ultron, and some new marvel something. Wtf dude, give me a foundation before cliff-hang'n.MovieBob said:Marvel Mess
Follow Bob down the convoluted memory lane that is comic books.
