Im really worried about this Seth McFarlane revival thing. it's either going to be not at all like the original and be terrible for it, or its going to try and copy the original and "modernize" it, which would also be terrible.

Some things are best left in the past. Don't you have enough shows, Seth? you already have too many that you can't ensure the quality in all of them (im looking at you, Cleveland show) how about you focus on those?

A) Tyson is awesome
I respect Tyson for his contributions to the popular understanding of science and his research; but I just can't stand the man in of himself. He's one of those people I find inexplicably odious.

B) That show is over 30 years old. There's new discoveries and new perspectives since then.

Saying it doesn't need a reboot is like saying we should have just left it at Origin of the Species, no need to write any follow ups.
Legit point there; but I'd rather it not be called "Cosmos" and mooch off of the original show's brilliance; make it an original property, and please, please don't have that douchebag MacFarlane have any creative control.

Also, Neil DeGrasse Tyson as the new Carl Sagan in a Cosmos reboot with MacFarlane propping it up?

NONOONONONONONONONONONO

That's horribly, horribly stupid. Cosmos doesn't need a damn reboot; just more reruns and a bit of editing to make it look cleaner.

Dude, just watch The Universe or any of the other shows that the Discovery networks have been shoveling out for the last ten years to tell the public the exact same things about the same three topics. Not only is a Cosmos reboot unnecessary, giving NDT more time on TV to tell everyone the same things again is unnecessary.

I actually remember watching the 25th anniversary thing. I think I was in kindergarten. I always liked the Jetsons more. Never realized how often they chopped up the various incarnations. I vaguely remember the version with 7 minute shorts that had Bam Bam and Pebbles jumping around in ages. As a pre-schooler it confused me.

We had the thing with Micheal Jackstone on VHS my mother was the 'health' teacher for our county so she taped alllll those 'just say no' episodes of EVERYTHING.

I remember the Flintstone Kids well because it usually ran back-to-back with the Tom & Jerry Kids in the 90s.

HOLY SHIT, I REMEMBER THE FLINTSTONE KIDS!! Kinda. I watched the re-runs on Cartoon Network or possibly Boomerang (if that was a thing) in the early/mid 90's since I was kind of only just born in 88 when that series ended. I remember liking that show but I don't remember watching it as often as I watched other cartoons. Also, I really don't want Seth MacFarlene doing Flintstones...it just seems kind of...dirty to me.
Yeah, I caught a couple of episodes of that. I also remember they used Captain Caveman as a sort of Itchy and Scratchy "that cartoon we all love" style thing.

And I remember watching Captain Caveman and the teen angels.

Fuck, I had no idea Flintstones got this weird.

For a rock-punned end quote, how about "Seth MacFarlane must be stoned."

No really.

Stone him.

With rocks.

It would be hilarious.

And here all I knew about where Pebbles and Bam-Bam as teenagers, The Flintstone Kids, The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones, the live action Flintstones movie, and Genndy Tartakovsky's Flintstones movie. Those there were some things I recognized, like the Shmoo and Captain Caveman.
